...so you know how long City have been negotiating with Silva do you? Are you Peps brother or something?

To be fair they've had months since Jan window closed. Also we've had same time and the echo say we have been low balling for Pickford bid and also been in negotiations for weeks with Enner and Cuco.

point is they have done it without it being peppered all over the web, and they have got their man, we are absolute amateurs in all things transfers

thats a fair point, but we invariably end up with nothing apart from being embarrassed, as i said before absolute amateurs

We are slow, thats for damn sure, but its honestly unfair to compare us to City.

Their owner owns a country and is possibly the richest person in the entire world, our owner owns a few shares.

Got their man for 43 million...and they've been chasing him all season. Slightly different to us and Reading looking at a back up full back. Pep has a list of potential signings and so do we, difference is Pep HAS to win something next season and has unlimited money available, we simply have to make steady progress. Do you honestly expect every signing to take about ten minutes? Even when dealing with a so called 'free' transfer you're talking a fair bit of money...wages and player insurance, agents fees, etc.

Haha, no I don't know anything about the inner workings at City, the same as I don't know anything about the inner workings at Everton.

However, I do know the Seamus' leg has been broken for about 2 months now, and that they have probably been looking at potential replacements for a while. The same way city have been looking at transfers for a while.

My thinking is that instead of going for a genuinely good player to compete with Coleman for the right back spot (an issue for 5+ years), we appear to be going for a cheap stop-gap who will offer next to nothing, and that this will be make right back a weak spot in the team until Seamus comes back in December/January. Even when he does come back Seamus (who is capable of being brilliant) will be able to throw in the odd horse-s--t performance because he knows the shirt is his no matter what he does. We have had and will continue to lack any viable replacements.

If I'm feeling optimistic I could be thinking the Koeman has Kenny in mind for right back next season and Martina will just be back up. However, we already know Holgate can put in a solid performance at rb, admittedly without offering anything going forward.

This whole thing just smells of everton penny pinching again. What's the point of signing a player if you know what they offer isn't good enough. This was always my main problem with giving Hibbert new contracts. We knew he wasn't up to it, and the hope was we would never have to use him. He offered no competition to Seamus, and when we were forced into playing him he let us down. What's the point? Just play a promising youngster, or pay a little extra and buy someone who can genuinely compete. This is just a useless no-mans land of nothingness.

In any case you would have thought that the city transfer would have been far more compilacated and take more time given the money involved? Are you a relative of Koeman/Bill? Perhaps you can tell me why I'm wrong.

I think its obvious that you're obsessed with the phrase 'absolute amateurs' in connection with the club you...er...'support' Night night xx

you are making excuses for them already, the phrase "us and Reading" is absolutely key here

Absolutely nothing wrong with having an opinion about the player, and you're fully entitled to your opinion, which has some merit, but Koeman must feel differently. Personally, even at his age, I would have gone for Zabaletta...a veteran who can still be very useful. I notice that West Ham have gone for him despite having signed Byram(?) last season. I seem to remember Hibbert playing well as a stop gay centre back a couple of times, and as for 'letting us down'...Hibbert was an excellent old school tackler but was not too good going forward, so you're not really comparing like with like comparing him with Coleman. From the beginning to the end of Hibberts career 'the game changed'.

How do you know it's us dragging our heels mate? Could be the player angling for an offer from a team that want him in the first 11? Might be he doesn't want to move to Liverpool area for whatever reason?

Seems a strong reaction given you freely admit you don't know what is going on, is all I'm saying. You are, of course, welcome to your opinion :)
