More like it from Unsworth.
Showing courage to finally drop Rooney. Niasse should have been in for DCL weeks ago due to being miles ahead in goals per minute.
Lennon is needed to protect Kenny. Big chance for Lookman. Needs to show defensive work rate.
We desperately need Sygy and Schneid to finally show the form we know they're capable of. If they do and we can keep it tight early on maybe we'll finally start to look a team and not a shambles.

Team set up when you look at the bench is weird, playing with wingers, but Vlasic and Mirallas both left off the bench, so if we need to make changes then we will end up completely changing the shape and way we will be starting the game - is that every game so far if we do with unsworth that we will have ended up finishing the game the complete opposite of starting shape wise...

Think there is something more with Vlasic

Plus he is great going forward, but needs more time to adjust defensively

Doesn't seem right that our best player this season is suddenly dropped out of the squad...no logic to me.

Your joking right, hes utterly terrible.

He makes me vomit.

Unless sandro comes good suddenly then he and DCL are our only forward options

Happy with that team. Proper wingers and great to see Lookman given a chance. Morgan back is a good thing, hopefully learnt his lesson, and adds height to the side.

Vlasic omission is harsh, but he won't be out of the squad indefinitely. Good to see Sandro back on the bench too.

I think its a disgrace that schneiderlin starts and vlasic/baningime aren't in the squad tbh

He's been abysmal this season.

I can understand no Holgate or baningime...I can understand Rooney, Sandro and DCL on the bench...

I just don't see why vlasic isn't in the team or even a sub...

How on god's earth is Schneiderlin in the team over Beni or Davies?

After seeing him first-hand in Lyon deliver one of the worst individual performances I have ever seen in a blue shirt (and I've seen Paul Holmes, Stuart Barlow and Brett Angel play), I was sure he would be shipped out to the reserves and forgotten about.
Unreal.

And the Vlasic situation is downright bizarre.

So something like this;

1Speroni
2Ward 6Dann 12Sakho 15Schlupp
8Loftus-Cheek 7Cabaye 4Milivojevic 8McArthur
10Townsend 11Zaha

19Niasse
31Lookman 18Sigurdsson 12Lennon
2Schneiderlin 17Gueye
3Baines 6Jagielka 4Keane 43Kenny
1Pickford

Interesting Palace midfield - perhaps they will play as a diamond.
Gueye may pick up Zaha - but no starting place for Benteke.

I'm not sure I'd say abysmal mate, there needs to be a balance between younger and more experienced players. Cookman and Kenny are in. Beni has done fantastically, but the height of Morgan will make a difference and I think it shows some positive man management for Unsworth to be able to bring him back into the fold, especially if he ups his performance.

Vlasic is an odd one. I think he's fallen through the cracks a bit. Unsworth clearly junked out Koeman's signings partly due to not knowing them and partly to make an example. I also think he's best as a number 10 where we are already over loaded.
I suspect Unsworth will integrate him quite soon or the new manager will give him some game time. I can't hand on heart say he deserves to start ahead of Lookman though.

Sensible balanced line up there. Bar Schneiderlin the line up I would go for and expect. Time for sigurdsson to shine in his proper position with width and pace either side and up top. I'm almost optimistic.....

Finally some pace in the starting XI which is promising and gives us a bit of hope. No Vlasic is bizarre though. Can only hope he's carrying a very minor injury and isn't worth the risk of playing because it doesn't take a genius to see that he'd performed miles better than anyone else before Koemans sacking. If Unsy isn't playing him because of a disagreement or whatever, then that is poor from Rhino.
