That is pretty much the team that got a point against City, the only team managed to do so this season, with Holgate instead of Lennon and Davis for 60 min before replaced by Gylfi.

Keane Williams Jagielka is a shambles of a back 3....where is the pace and ball playing?

Schneiderlin has been dreadful this season

Gana is good defensively but offers nothing else

Lennon and Baines as wingbacks? No way...

Gylfi and Rooney playing together with only DCL with any pace?

We'd be smashed.

Personally I would go

Pickford
Kenny Keane Jagielka Baines
Davies Gana
Rooney
Vlasic Niasse Lookman
I'd have the idea that Sigurdsson, DCL and Baningime can impact the game as subs.

The source of our problems lies in our failure to sign new players.

When Giroud walked away, Koeman must have known his plans were in tatters.

But who exactly is responsible for signing new players?

We've got a large squad to choose from, but very few players who select themselves.

Do we go for youth or experience, adventure or caution?

I'd say the spirit Niasse showed against Watford is essential. And Unsworth was very bold making his substitutions.

But we'll need much better organisation to go along with it. Can Unsworth find a combination that will work together as a team?

Something like;

Pickford
Kenny Keane Jagielka Baines
Lennon Davies Gana Sigurdsson
DCL Niasse

All depends on the team selection. Another crap one from Unsy and we’ll get done here.

The only hope for me is we have to win away sooner or later surely.

..when Vlasic has played in that position he’s left his right back really exposed. He chases the game defensively, it doesn’t come naturally to him and he leaves a huge void on the right side. I like him but if he plays it has to be central where he travels well with the ball, goes past defenders and can pick a pass.

Have my hopes up, for a brilliant match from the likes of, DCL, Davies, Rooney, Niasse, Keane, Baines, Vlasic and Pickford. That's 8 out of 11 players, not bad. Like.

I hope Sniderman is benched, im tired of his attitude, on and off the pitch.

Come on Uns, bring down the Palace.

W
Pickford
Keane-Williams-Jagielka
Lennon-Gana-Morgan-Baines
Gylfi
DCL-Rooney

It's 3-4-1-2 on attack and 5-3-2 when defending, have width, and enough presence up top.

Zaha is a handful, need to double up on him, but with a full back and one of the center back in a back four, Benteke will not be sufficiently covered. I'd rather have Williams than Holgate to mark Benteke.

Davies is a ball winner and full of energy, however, playing with 3 at the back with only 1 player covering each wing, 2 DM would provide more cover for counter attack. Morgan or Davies is for me still the best option to pair with Gana in central midfield.

Vlasic and Lookman don''t seem to defend, so Lennon for me on the right wing.

Instruction for Rooney is simple, don't you dare to even think about defending, just concentrate on not being offside.
what is it you see in Williams mate?

Who indeed
Who indeed is ultimately responsible for just what is most of the problem.
We may have as owners Stradivarius and Picasso, but our Stradivarius can't play the fiddle worth jack and our Picasso couldn't paint a window sill

I'd look at Davies to come across as well as Gana on the other side to cover...

Unleash Vlasic and Lookman...
