3-1 blues with the game being stressful. Tied 1-1 until the 73rd minute and then a late DCL goal to cap it off.

When was it, the last time we won five games in a row?
Last time we won 5 in a row was Aug/sep 2016 - 4 games via league & 1 cup with Koeman also did 2009 [2 league/3 cup] and in 2008 we did it & 3 times same season in 2007

Last time 6 games [all league] was as above march/april 2014 before the palace defeat
Last time 7 games won was oct/nov 2002 if you were to include a pen shoot out win at newcastle, that run was stoped by you all remember it that volley from shearer and the og minute later in final few mins when we had 10 men from around the 15th minute after Yobo was sent off

We just need to be a bit careful with our approach play. If they allow us to play a bit in their half it's a sure fire indication that they'll be looking to hit on the counter regularly. Ancelotti isn't daft, he'll realise this himself, think it's just a case of how we're going to find the space to move the ball up the pitch quickly ourselves.

Think Allan / Doucouré will need to be disciplined in their positioning. Doucouré in particular is brilliant in recovery (that last ditch tackle against Spurs a good example) - so hopefully we can minimise the counter attacks.

Everyone saying this is a tough game, but there are at least 14 tougher games than this out of the 38 we play. If this isn't one we win, then we're looking at mid-table again.

Years of grinding disappointment has clouded our optimism, such as it ever existed. We'll win this but I wouldn't be surprised if we sustain an injury in the process. (It's not possible to be completely optimistic as a blue).

Nobody has mentioned that if we win this, we go top of the league again, probably for a few days at least. Leicester play City and have Ndidi out, so probably gonna drop points, and Arsenal play the RS so at least one of them drops points.

I will have to ask him. We haven’t discussed it yet. We don’t normally wind each other up. His first Everton game was at Selhurst in 1994, a 1-0 win for Palace but as he was not quite seven, a wind up would have been very cruel. We have only had serious words once. In April 2014 Everton needed (and we all expected) a win to maintain their push for the Champions League. An unlikely 3-2 Palace win led to words about time wasting / game management from Palace, a silent 3 hour drive home and not speaking to each other for 3 days. Thankfully now we are far more grown uplol.
Next battle will be who his 4 year old son is going to support. (The other grandad is Spurs so that is obviously ruled out).
How is Eberechi Eze settling in? heard good things about him, but haven't seen him. Could he be the danger man if we concentrate too much on nullifying Zaha?

Correct. Palace are a bottom half team and if we’re serious about going anywhere, we need to win the majority of these games.
