I think its as much Russian, well any money from abroad actually, needs the UK. Strong laws and regulation, security, and a welcoming authority, be it Government, banks, property developers, or fund managers.

Needs the UK and it's various overseas territories. strong laws and regulations, Mmmmm, like the EU were suggesting, just as well there is nothing that will jepordise our membership.;)

I almost wonder if this is not just a part of an overall foreign policy by Putin. I mean think about, the US is busy fighting among itself over Trump, The UK doing same over Brexit, much of the EU/NATO nations are squabbling domestically over how best to deal with immigration and such - and somewhat with each other on all those domestic things that have international ramifications. What a great time to be Putin watching the EU/NATO/West world all up in arms internally.

The Brits are focusing on Russia over the alleged GRU agents, half the US is focusing on what Russia may have done in the 2016 election....it's almost like photographers do when trying to get kids to look this way at Russia or that way, parents jingling keys and such - distraction, look this way! Throw in 300,000 Russian troops doing exercises that EVERYONE is watching....
As Russia continues to annex Ukraine getting a foothold back in Europe
Continues to send troops and supplies into Syria as it reestablishes and consolidate it's strongest foothold in the Middle East

Russia has always been an imperial power, or wanted to be. They just weren't very successful at it, and couldn't get a seat with the big kids in Europe, until 1945. And then they gave that all away in the early 90's. To the hardliners that was/is a betrayal to Mother Russia, especially the "Russian lands" like say...Ukraine.

He's not reckless or going to provoke a large conflict, but Putin, IMO, is old school Russian, and wants to restore Russia to the "rightful place" it deserves.

Travelled from Moscow to see the Cathedral, first day too snowy so had to return to London, 2nd day spent a total of 1hr 7mins in Salisbury, and was caught on CCTV nowhere near it, it was open to view and yet not picked up anywhere inside or outside on the CCTV at the Cathedral.

You went to London , did you go and see Buckingham palace ? Go shopping at Harrods or see the tower ? “ no mate we went to Salisbury to see the cathedral, then to be honest we just came home “

as I’ve said I’ve been fairly satisfied the Russians are responsible but there are questions in the whole thing for me , questions that I think are fair to ask .

I’ve not sat and watched the whole thing carefully because I’ve has a busy day . However I’ve got to say I’d be interested to see hullefc view on what we’ve seen because all that seem short of in that interview was a wink or a moustache twirl .

Oh, I can’t wait for him to put some spin on this. If you thought the interview funny then his response will be hilarious......

Putin has to put the Billions he has stolen somewhere.....

I wasn’t saying it to have a go at him , I genuinely want to see his position. I know you two disagree vehemently on what’s gone on, I totally understand some of his scepticism if not all of it.

Oh we don’t disagree, we both know the Russians did it. He just can’t admit it......
