It looks like they’re being brutal and not holding back or dropping intensity. Is the right way to do things I think. Not sure they could get much more from it.

Yeah you're maybe right. Although I absolutely don't get a day 2 declaration in a warm up game. Stokes and Bairstow aren't even going to have had a bat before the ashes, and Brook got 9 balls off the back of the IPL. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

First test will be the tune up game for them.
A nice simple 4-1 victory will be fine. May e 5-0 with the right wind.

I agree, should have carried on batting to give at least brook and bairstow some time in the middle.

Probably get as much practice in the nets in a game like this and would turn the whole thing into (even more of) an exhibition match.
At least this way they will maintain some sort of intensity.
Bit worried about Brook though as his confidence looked shot in the IPL. Looked like a toxic team he was playing for though.
