Thought we were dead and buried at start of play yesterday. Excellent fightback with the ball and wonderful batting by Stokes ,Foakes and especially Root who is surely destined to go psst Cook as England's leading test runscorer.

Finally, they played like they were in a test match to get over the line. Too many hero one day shots nearly cost the game.

His average increased as a captain in carrying the world’s worst batting unit in his shoulders. Smith, Kohli and Williamson his peers in the world rankings haven’t added that additional pressure. Also throw in the fact half the year he is batting in England, which has the most least favourable batting conditions in world cricket. He really is a class act.
