Ridiculous, nothing to do with their attitude but they're batting now not before lunch yeaterday
I doubt it as you don't enforce a following in India and they'll have all the pressure off with nothing of consequence if as expected they elect to bat again. I would think defensive fields and few close catchers with batsmen swinging away completely regardless, as there's no problem with wickets falling it hardly matters. A few come off and some big hitting could come. They can do what they like and bat in T20 style if they want, no risk but full reward.
If they get bowled out they don't care, the match won't last long either way.
Of course it's partially to do with attitude. We will see how India's batsman go on this pitch and 2nd time. Pant batted ok in the first innings.
Some players have got good balls, or unplayable balls, but a few have got themselves out.
I'll say this, I bet Leach will be able to hang around. He's a county number 10/11, but he won't give his wicket away easily.
Very difficult batting out there. One thing we don't seem to be able to do when wickets are falling is keep the score board ticking over. Just 3 an over would have seen us pass the follow on target by now.
As Chris said earlier though, win the toss win the game. Should have just had four coin tosses to decide this series, and done away with the actual cricket.
This puts it into a proper context for me ...
The hang-em-and-flog-em brigade will be out this morning but I don't think England have disgraced themselves especially. India prepared a pitch to suit them. They got the 50-50 with the toss. One of their top six, Rohit, played a sensational innings. And now the spinners are ragging the ball all over the place. There was always going to be at least one match like this.
India needed such a wicket, such a wicket was prepared, the toss win was the final nail in England's coffin
