Cricket

England's slip catching has been poor for a long while i feel. Probably due to all the chopping and changing of batsmen in the last few years. This summer has been attrocious.

Yorkshire close on 178-6, Lyth 86no has looked a class above everyone else. 250 would be a good score on this pitch. Lancs bowling a bit of a mixture - some good balls and spells but also some rubbish, mainly from debutant Burrows. He might be quick enough to bowl short in club and youth cricket but almost all bar one of his short balls ended up at the boundary, the exception being when Brook lashed one straight to Bohannon at cover point. Later, he picked up a second wicket when Thompson tried to leave a wide one alone but only edged the ball onto his stumps. To give an idea of the conditions, Jennings' medium pace was as dangerous as anyone, finishing with 8-2-14-1.

Weather forecast is good for tomorrow but dreadful for Tuesday so a draw looks likely.

Yeah Pakistan going to follow on. 310 of a difference on first innings. Only rain can save them.

Bad light a fitting end to this match with two days of rain to finish.

Four day tests in this country would in effect mean we might get a day, throw in bad light and possibly even less. It's possibly why winning the series matters more than the margin, you can't control weather

The drops were due to playing in bad light.
