Root's captaincy puzzles me but I thought he excelled himself yesterday in the afternoon. He persevered with Anderson and Bess, both the most uneconomical of the bowlers. Anderson can't buy a wicket at the moment. Meanwhile, he had Woakes, 2 wickets for 11 runs spending most of the afternoon fielding, only bowling 5 overs.

Archer a bit of a worry as well. Real lack of control compared to stokes woakes and broad. Why on earth did he not carry on with those who were on a roll last night??

I think its 20 too many tbh. 250-260 on the edge of what I think is gettable. This is a weak lineup with a huge tail. Hope im wrong though.
