Hold on, u telling me @JofraArcher can’t play because he stopped off at his flat on the way to old Trafford? Seriously man, this is the biggest overreaction if I’ve ever seen one.

Any breach of the biosecure environment would be sure to be looked on by the ECB with what would be quite frankly, disbelief and fury, they'd worked so hard to set this up, no crowds only two very secure environments, regular testing and isolation away from contamination, they'd convinced the relevant authorities it was absolutely safe and secure and got the go ahead.

It's easy to issue such a glib comment but really perhaps not the most intelligent response from Bopara who hasn't had the tiniest part in all these painstaking arrangements, does him no favours at all.

The West Indies have been locked up at old Trafford and then at the Ageas for weeks in order to play these games safely, but Archer just pops home for a bit. I’m sure the England players with kids etc that haven’t been allowed home wouldn’t have minded just popping home for a bit either.

Hope he learns from this.

Its a small mistake and he deserves to be dropped.

But I don't think he should be completely castigated for it. Its not the worst mistake anyone has ever made.

He's not though, he's been told to isolate for five days take two Covid tests to make sure he's free of the virus and can then return.

That in my book is the direct opposite of castigating him. I think they've been pretty fair and taken the appropriate action to keep the environment biosecure as promised. It's far from an overreaction and Bopara's comments are at best a kneejerk overreaction.
