My concern is with trying to shore up a batting line up who were embarassed last week with a guy who has made an international career out of getting embarassed. Lengthening the tail and bringing Vince in at 3 is asking to be bowled out for 46 nevermind 56.

It's a proper cricket oval, which we have very few of in New Zealand as the major stadiums are often dual purpose cricket/rugby. Basin Reserve in Wellington and Hagley Oval are probably the two best, and most picturesque cricket grounds in NZ.

I love the ‘little’ grounds - without massive stands, takes me back to playing district cricket and the grounds we’d play at with school.

Some modern cricket grounds are absolute beauties but you can’t beat a tiny, grass bank oval.

The sarcasm font clearly wasn't working.
Its an absolutely beautiful looking cricket ground and looks such a laid back place to watch the game, let alone play.
I heard it maybe another 10 years to rebuild the area properly, hope its successful.

Sorry, my sarcasm radar clearly was off. And yeah, the rebuild is going far too slowly for most local's liking, myself included, but all good things take time I guess.

Back to the cricket, Bairstow did a great job in the second half of the day. Batting at number seven doesn't really do him justice.
