Fair enough. The banks/boe and the government are all complicit in this mess we have become.

Anyway Pete am trying to enjoy myself after a terrible year and don’t need your nonsense picking my posts apart and trying to spoil my night.

Sorry mate, honestly didn’t mean to do that, enjoy your night and your booze and celebrate the house sale….cheers…..

Feeling the pinch at the moment myself. Wife is down to statutory maternity pay. Thats just covers her own bills so everything household wise like mortgage, home and life insurance, utility bills, food, diesel etc. falls on me until March on top of my own cars payments and bills etc.

Thankfully i got big promotion in work back in April otherwise we would have been massively screwed. And I'm self employed so have the ability to pick up extra work.

Definetly a lesson learned to lower commitments as it makes it easier in times of national crisis. Feel for anyone that doesn't have that luxury.

My wife does one weekly shop from M&S for certain things. When you factor in their deals, it’s comparable to Aldi in price but much better quality.*

The rest of the stuff we get is a mixture of Tesco, Aldi and Lidl.

*Aldi food is high in fats and sugars.

We use ocado these days and it's loads better than we expected

We used to go to Aldi/Lidl but they've got loads worse in the last year or so and the quality of most of the stuff is crap. It's not even that cheap anymore.

The whole M&S being cheap thing is an odd myth.

It’s just clearly not true.
It isn’t cheap overall, however if you are selective and primarily buy their deals for main meals (dine in for… two for…) it’s fairly competitive.

We genuinely find we waste less, the quality is better (taste and health wise) and comparable prices. If you did a full shop there, then it’s expensive.

He will happily see you suffer in the name of political tribalism, that is what is important to him.

Congrats on the sale mate, my sister is going through something similar and what this government has cost people who should be in their best years is disgusting. I don't think the true price of their greed and incompetence will be realised for some years unfortunately, and the likes of us will still be suffering for it long into retirement, if that's even an option.

At least you can breathe easy for a while now without that crap in the back of your mind.

Finally sold my property today. All completed. Feel so relieved. Lost so many hours of sleep due to this. Worst year of my life.

Feels weird not paying 8.3% interest rate to a corrupt government. Scared to workout how much I’ve actually paid out on interest this past year.

Two crates of Stella, 3 bottles of Prosecco, bottle of Morgan’s and Box of rose all in for this weekend x
I’ve got a second property. Currently costing me £170 a month after the rent has been paid on it. Can’t sell it because the arse has dropped out of the market. If i could sell it I’d make a loss on it.

It’s on interest only, so I’m consoling myself that when the base rate was 0.25 I was making a few quid.

Imagine property developers with multiple plots having this problem with multiple properties. Soon send you into ruin.

@Baines' left foot was in the trade, said today developers have stopped building.

That's with what is already a housing crisis

It’s a sad state of affairs when the provision of something which should be a basic human expectation is strongly influenced by how much money it generates for a private company.

It’s pathetic that a country of our stature relies on private companies to provide such a fundamental requirement of human life.
