Been wanting to go Japan for a while but always something thats comes up thats diverted my savings towards / the missus prefers more beach type holidays.

I'll get there one day !
I’ll let you know how it was when I get back mate, it’s ended up a lot cheaper than expected (albeit due to the slightly grim reason that their economy is even more screwed than ours) which is a bonus

Hey BGD - I have too many trolls on ere so cant be mixing business with pleasure unfortunately. If you follow me on twitter tho you'll find my link for patreon/youtube if you're interested in any spiritualism/meditation/reiki/fitness n well-being type content 👍

Who are the trolls mate? Let me know and I'll sort them out.

Is it that @JimmyJeffers ?

Aldi have also reduced the sizes of their food whilst raising the prices.

I went to M&S last Friday to get things in for tea and some other bits and it felt like it was no more expensive than Aldi.

If it was, it was only by a few quid and the quality is greater.
My wife does one weekly shop from M&S for certain things. When you factor in their deals, it’s comparable to Aldi in price but much better quality.*

The rest of the stuff we get is a mixture of Tesco, Aldi and Lidl.

*Aldi food is high in fats and sugars.

With a new house, beach hols, and a trip to Japan in the wish list you're gonna have to work that Patreon hard man.

Joking aside, I can see why so many folk will turn to side hustles, second (or even third) jobs etc. Tough times.

Finally sold my property today. All completed. Feel so relieved. Lost so many hours of sleep due to this. Worst year of my life.

Feels weird not paying 8.3% interest rate to a corrupt government. Scared to workout how much I’ve actually paid out on interest this past year.

Two crates of Stella, 3 bottles of Prosecco, bottle of Morgan’s and Box of rose all in for this weekend x

Congratulation then, and that's some run of ale you've got to face.

Mortgages are not paid to the government……..

It seems to be getting worse as well, some of the prices for the most basic items in the supermarkets are ridiculous.
Bag of basmati rice in Asda is £5, £3 for a roll of kitchen paper, £3-5 for foil.
I'm lucky in that my energy costs aren't too bad (Living alone in a relatively small place helps on this front) but something does have to change, this isn't sustainable for most people long term.
Is it just me or is tin foil now extorniate.

Good price that. Although reckon you could have probably held out for more and got them to add a couple of bottles of Glens vodka as well
