A capful or two of flash floor cleaner mixed in with hot water in a bowl; get yourself a sponge and just dab it over the surface. Wash off with cold water.

It'll kill the mould off quite quickly, and if you wipe it off carefully, then it shouldn't damage the paint. In terms of the £2,500, it's the average household.
Only mould we get is the bathroom ceiling. That's a fun one to try to clean; especially as the toxic cleaner says not to use on ceilings, probably for good reason...
If youre in the shower or bath make sure the door it closed fully and put the extractor fan on. Then when finished, extractor off and open the window and let all the condensation go that way and not build up in the house. Boil kettle into stove extractor and obviously on when cooking. It's the build up of condensation that is enabling the mould. On a warmer day get all the windows open for an hour to ventilate. Try to dry clothes outside if you can, damp clothes on radiators means the water vapour is chased to the coldest walls and corners in house. Water is the enemy. To try and get on top of the mould at the same time, when the windows mist up, dry sponge them down and collect the condensation into a bucket or sink (easiest in bathroom & kitchen). It means being as on top with the condensation as it does with switching lights and tvs off etc.
Karcher window vac has helped us a bit - dries the tiles and window in there, and will use it on the ceiling once ive next fully cleaned it. Will probably need a second one as this is now bathroom only I think...

Only thing helping that bathroom is a new window and extractor fan, both coming soon (only recently moved in)

Another obvious tip but many forget, is don't hang washing up to dry inside unless the room is very well ventilated, huge cause of mold and damp rooms comes from this.

Through the summer our combined electric and gas was £130 a month. After the October rise the first bill was £180.

I expect November to be around £200.

It is what it is and there's nothing we can do about it.. getting shafted from government and the energy providers. They're Eiffel towering above our heads...

Well indeed, this entire energy situation has a real stench about it. Many are going to be sat wrapped up against the cold and the energy companies are raking in billions of excess profit . I don't want handouts as after all it's paid for by ourselves, I want the government to stop hiding behind Russian war and force the insidious energy companies to lower the unit price of energy much further.

And the standing charges as well total rip off.

Seriously consider buying a Dehumidifier. Many seem to use around 200w, but that's of course needs let out heat, so in a way, that's not actually lost energy from that point of view.

I'm constantly telling the family to have the extractor fan on and the window slightly open when they shower. Once they're out, get the window open properly.
I'd only use the windows to aid ventilation during the summer months. Condensation occurs on cold surfaces. Keep interior walls warm to avoid it.
(Like a warm windscreen in your car doesn't mist up.)

In today’s edition of adding insult to injury, the ULEZ in London will be expanded from August next year. So that’s £12.50 a day to use your vehicle if you live within the M25.

This country is a disaster.
