But for a country that was self sufficient in egg production to one now importing eggs is a step too far…..
The shortage of eggs is, in part, due to avian flu. And of course, those pesky Russkies.

Defra didn’t mention that we did have 44million laying hens, it’s the way they tell it. My point being though that this is happening across the board, companies are trying to make up for reduction in sales and profit from Covid and are just out to milk it.….

I can't get that exercised about the numbers to be honest. The place in which I work gets their eggs from the local farmer, cheaper and with vivid yellow yolks.

there is a shortage in wood pellet cat litter and i wondered why. turns out people are using it for their fires as it's cheaper than fire wood

Speaking of tesco. Something I have noticed. Yellow stickers are only being reduced by pennies. Even later in the evening. Been in a few times around the 7pm time, and the price of the yellow stickers is silly. Then you see the staff just empty it all off the shelves.
Wondering if the staff are "forgetting" to lower the price through the day, so they nab all the practically free food. Can't blame them if that is what is going on. But still.

Used to work in a supermarket. Staff normally did get first dibs on any reduced stuff. Just held it back in the warehouse. To be expected really, has to be some “perks” I suppose.
Used to hate having to deal with people fighting over the reduced stuff. You would get people queuing up well before it was put on the shelves, literally jostling for position. I imagine it might be even worse now.

Not sure where we cover this…apart from slagging off the Tories. But what examples are people seeing….

As a starter, my monthly LPG payment has just gone up to £550, so just £6.6K a year…I daren’t even mention my weekly car fuel bill which is a lot higher……

Turn the heating off alltogether Pete you're customers will appreciate cold beer you'll save thousands and you won't have to buy ice cubes, win, win, win.. :)?
