This was one of the most interesting interviews ive seen in a long time. A long standing economist for the FT gives his views regarding the difficulties we face as a country, how we got to this point and what, in his view, we need to do in order to repair the damage.

....oh and tinned tomatoes are economical, convenient and quite healthy provided no added salt. All good chefs are happy to use them rather than fresh - just as good.

Great for stews, pasta dishes and curries.

True, but you should always, always buy the plum tomatoes and never chopped. The chopped are just offcuts of the plum tomatoes and you get less tomato.

Just put the plum tomatoes in a bowl and crush them with your hands

It’s always the same kind of people with the same kind of opinions.
So you're happy wading into a thread halfway through and taking a pop at someone for a comment which YOU freely admit you're taking out of context?

- Go back to page 36 (might be 35, or 37).
- Find the post featuring the photo of the jar of Lloyd Grossman sauce at over £4.
- Read the reply from @Mr. White white suggesting making sauce from scratch.
- Read the snarky replies directed at him and the point following that where I first commented.
- Then read the rest of the replies leading to YOU sticking your oar in.

Then ask yourself "do I owe @Tree13 an apology?"

Then we can talk.
are you okay?
