Here you cannot grow ripe tomatoes in the UK - without heating & lighting in the UK .... the shortage is because of a freak snowstorm in Spain & Africa a month ago which wiped outdoor crops of some vegetables are in short supply for about 3-4 weeks .....
That's what we are saying mate. The energy costs for the aforementioned heating and lighting was prohibitive for the large scale grower.

And it's not freak weather you belter, it's your coal fire ffs.

Had my text from O2 that contract prices are going up. I purposefully took a new contract and limited my spend so that the increase would keep me below a level I had in my head.

But 17.3% increase is ridiculous.

I was looking randomly yesterday at rental prices. We have a mortgage thankfully as to rent a 4 bed house now in Southport the cheapest house was £1350 a month. Absolutely shocking. I fear it's going to get much worse for those on low incomes..
One of my biggest fears was the London property effect would make its way up here. Seeing it costs £900 a month to rent a house in Tranmere is depressing.

We don’t have London wages up here, though.

Just had the same from my supplier, 3.

Going up 4.5% every year from now on, with no explanation !!!!!

Just warming my tootsies around my log coal fire ..... Go & have a look what China & Russia - Poland with their massive coal industry burn .... for industry Poland have 300 coal mines in operation..... FFS - a bit pointless us going green till they step in line IMO ... I burn smokeless coal & dry kiln logs - @roydo has a log fore too - good on him .....

It`s the same by us mate, getting close to a grand a month, for a two up two down.

The rental signs seem to come down in a matter of days too.
I fear that milennials and younger generations are going to have huge mental issues as a result of all this.

I know far too many people in their thirties still living at home. It's not sustainable.
