I'm keen to see what that'll translate to in unit prices and standing charges.

Current rates from the govt price garuntee are here:

There not standard depending on your deal and the £2.5k and £3k cap figures aren't helpful at all because they're based on 'typical' usage.

I'm on SVR so I'm working on unit rates and standing charges increasing by 20%. If you know your monthly usage you can figure it out.

Chuck in the removal of the support package (£66 a month) it'll hit quite a few hard.

I keep saying to folk that restructuring how electricity prices are arrived at is critical. They're tied to wholesale gas so we are really paying over the odds given the volume produced by renewables a lot of the time.

I loathe Jeremy Hunt. He's zealous in his punishing of the poor for not being as virtuous as the rich like him and his associates are. The rat.
Did some good work when back bench MP and sat on cross party committee, Was a keen advocate on a work force plan for NHS, he has now dropped this since becoming chancellor. Probably argue it's not his remit but would have to sanction costing. And yes am aware Hannibal Lectur was a good cook.

I was looking randomly yesterday at rental prices. We have a mortgage thankfully as to rent a 4 bed house now in Southport the cheapest house was £1350 a month. Absolutely shocking. I fear it's going to get much worse for those on low incomes..

We were renting in Barnet, last stop on the Northern Tube line, and moved out in December 2021. At the time we were paying £1250 for a 2 bed flat in a nice area.

I’ve just had a look now and the cheapest flats are £1550

That’s a 22% rise in 14 months. Insane.

The record profits from utility companies is criminal. The Tories do not care whatsoever as they can afford £3000 bills plus they all hold shares in the petrol and power businesses!!
Needs to be riots and revolution all over the place against all this. Sadly we're too busy fighting amongst each other and too lazy as a whole to attempt to do anything about it.

They, as in those in charge, seemed to attempt to hide their little conflicts of interest and rule flaunting as they got rich but the last few years they just don't bother. No matter who you vote in they're only servants to the large industries like banking, oil, mining and grubby property developers. Meanwhile go to emergency at the hospital and you might get seen inside 12 hours if you're lucky.
