Our smart meter isn’t playing ball at the moment, so I’ll have to do an online meter reading to measure our gas and electricity usage.

I suspect December and January will surge our usage and, alas, the monthly bill, but February onwards should average it out to something acceptable.

My wife keeps having the tumble dryer on, which is devouring electricity, but then again clothes need to dry and it means the gas is used less.
Got the same dilemma with clothes. Tumble dryer or dehumidifier running. If I air dry them without the dehumidifier I do get mold and damp.

In some respects it's not gas prices that have me worried, its electricity. Especially looking at the Jan price cap leap. I posted elsewhere there's an argument that altering how electricity prices are determined would make life an awful lot better for people:

Can anybody suggest a decent heater?

Home alone tonight and im freezing, but no choice to put the heating on to warm a whole house when im sitting in 1 room all night.............
It's going to sound ridiculously Victorian - but I have a hot water bottle with a little compartment to put my feet into

Stick your feet in that with a throw on and it's lovely and toasty - I use it all day when working from home, generally stays hot about 4 hours and then just fill it up again

It almost makes we want to cry that we're having this conversation in 2022 but there it is

This is the age of the hot water bottle.

Why not use your radiators? If you don't want to hang stuff on them directly you can load an indoor clother airer https://www.argos.co.uk/sd/clothes-dryer/

My mrs just checked and our local Tesco where she works took £175,000 yesterday… smashing their projected target by 75,000

WHAT COST OF LIVING CRISIS !!!!

I think I’ll sell the pub and open a Tesco……on second thoughts, nah, you’ve got to have a bit of fun from life…..

Was out yesterday and never seen my high street so busy. People must have high levels of disposable income still. Or it’s going on the CC.
