Correcting spelling/grammar on the Internet

It has long been something that annoys me greatly watching this endlessly occurring on countless threads.

If it was out of a personal quest to help others I might be more amenable but it is almost without exception used to break rhythm in discussion and to demean someone's argument by passively aggressively belittling then.

If you were at a dinner party and someone continously kept correcting everyones conversational grammar then you would quite rightly think them to be a loathsome social cripple who should be cast into the gutter without pudding.

Anyone who is engaged in this practice should be treated with extreme suspicion and has undoubtedly, if male, never put their willy in a woman.
Bovvered ?

What would you consider mangling?

What is acceptable for you with regards to lexicon and vernacular?

Your party sounds like one where there there is an awkward silence and glances exchanged when a guest uses the wrong fork to be honest.
Well your party just sounds like one where people grunt at each other and eat with their hands while spraying their fellow diners with crumbs.

I guess the truth of either lies somewhere in the middle. I ain't that fussed to be honest, I guess I just mix with folk who speak properly. The grand irony is that I live in a non-mother tongue country and probably mangle all sorts, which would explain why I never get any pudding.

But it's my favourite hobby!

Well that and leaving errors around in my own messages for others to correct.

After 30 years help edumacate others it's a difficult habit to stop - I mainly do it now if there's a comic reason, or if someone's getting a bit above themselves.
This. I'm all for it if there's high comedy value and/or someone needs to get back in their pram. Otherwise, it's a no.

I usual post under the influence of alcohol, and whilst angry.

Spelling, grammer, and syntax (whatever that is), usually suffer.

I apologise.

No apologies necessary brother.

I usually post while tabbing between rhythm websites and debasing myself in the biblical sense.

I feel it gives a sense of torment and urgency to my messages.
