Found the issue.

Aye that's true.

Was just the source itself that shared it like.

But again, was just for debate. Thought some of it was worth raising. Not trying to say this thing isn't serious cause it clearly is or we wouldn't all be locked inside apart from for our state-approved exercise.

Its a toss up currently, which breaks first, the countries economy or the health service.

We can always make more money, we cant bring the dead back.

So we choose economic collapse, for now.

I dont have any answers, its a cluster f of epic proportions.

I know mate and it's not an easy choice. I'm not saying we shouldn't be prioritising keeping people alive. Unfortunately it's a catch 22 because if you crash the economy then it's not just 'making more money' - services suffer (as we've seen in the last 10 years) and people's livelihoods and that leads to deaths too.

Whether the measures we have actually taken work we'll only find out in a few weeks/months.

I'm just a little worried you're spending too much time reading into everything that's out there.

I've read two articles on COVID-19 today mate. One on the Beeb this morning and then that this afternoon.

Other than that I've stayed away apart from chatting on here.

Im trying not to think of what next, from a personal POV my missus work was struggling badly as it is, I dont see how it survives this, but thats something to worry about after.

I have had to restrict my reddit reading to once a day, theres very little good news about these days.

Populations under lock and key, all relying on handouts from the government? It's not sustainable.

No, it's not sustainable, but if the latest paper from Imperial is right in giving a best estimate of just under 3% of the UK population has been infected is ball park right ( and they've set a range of 1.5 to 5% or so ), then there's some light at the end of the tunnel, all be it a bloody long tunnel.

And, no offence ( you know what comes next ! ), pretty much every post I've seen of yours over the last week or so has been pushing widely discredited views which suggests you're not exactly objective ... having said that, who is ?

I'm not reading anything whatsoever tbh. Just keeping updated with my work status, updated on isolation, that's about it. Don't see the point reading anything else as we can't change our own situations.

Well it's catch 22.

We need to do that because the world can't keep grinding to a halt.

But, with the world grinding to a halt, loads of money is gonna be have to pumped into things other than healthcare which is what actually needs the funding.

Hopefully our measures from now to May/June or whenever it is will ensure that the next wave is pushed back far enough to be manageable by the time it does come.

It isn't, really. Governments (and individuals, and firms) have a tendency to only pay for the minimum of what they think they need; in good times this is often confused as being prudent, but in reality it guarantees that they end up paying far more than they've saved when something bad happens and they have to panic.

Or, to put it another way - "battleships are cheaper than battles"

Well I'm trying to be objective, genuinely. I am following the guidance and absolutely agree that it seems the right thing to do right now. As you'll know I don't think it should ever have had to get to this because I think we should have been better prepared. And I think there are a lot of questions to be asked when this is all over and I have been concerned by how quickly people have gone from being all very liberal to suddenly actively wanting to be put under house arrest for several months - and are still calling in some quarters for more stringent measures to be taken.

There's that side of it and then there's the other side which is obviously we need to try and save as many people as possible and hoping nobody I know gets the thing seriously.
