My temp is still over 38 and I've got a niggly cough, it doesent fit into the symptoms though this cough so I've no idea.

Bit of one but nothing too major. More fever, head and body aches.

Indeed that boat has well sailed. But these things happen step by step. You understand what happened in Germany in the 30’s (sorry @roydo , it’s just a point) and I would not like to see similar happening here just because of a disease that many of us may already have had.......

Germany in the 1930s happened because of various factors, almost all of which were unique to Germany. Their experience is not that relevant to us now.

Ironically though, what is relevant is that our experience now is very similar to what happened here in the late 1930s. On both occasions the UK had a government with a big Parliamentary majority, which had overwhelming Press support (and that of "society"), which had just implemented a long period of austerity and had suffered a massive financial crash around ten years previously.

Both governments were then faced with an existential crisis which they responded to initially with disbelief, then a strategy that proved to be wrong and finally - when they did make an effort - lacked grip and conviction, and generally didn't appear to be taking things as serious as they claimed.

The remedy in 1940 was to bin them off and get a genuinely national effort together to fix things; personally I think we are approaching the point where we should do the same.
