Yeah theirs was supposed to be end of this month just gone. became obvious about two weeks ago I think that they had to cancel, but then it would have been forced on them anyway. Proper miserable stuff.

Know at least one person as well who couldn't go to a family funeral.

We certainly picked the wrong year to finally plan a wedding and a family holiday!

A minor concern currently tho.

Why is it 'headline' news that it could take 6 or more months for things to get back to normal?

Did people actually think that this would all quickly blow over and we'll be in the Lisbon by the end of April?

My optimistic hope is that it will be 6 months but a more realistic hope is longer than that.

Yeah true for sure. But the long term damage of this kind of thing adds up and becomes a psychological "footprint". Very worried about the level of suicide in the next month tbh
We are gearing up for Wednesday onwards when it will begin to boil over...

Just been informed a friend of my mother's has passed away, confirmed COVID19 over 70 and a smoker, however, known to be healthy as you can be with age and lifestyle choices.

Here is something very interesting: https://futurism.com/neoscope/half-coronavirus-carriers-no-symptoms

Iceland, population 364,000

– As of March 25, Iceland has administered 12,615 tests.
– Of those tests, Iceland has found 802 confirmed cases.
They’ve nearly tested 3.4 percent of the entire country

Today's numbers: 1,020 (total) confirmed cases since March 25, up 200 something, no idea how many more they tested.

Out of 1,020 confirmed cases they have 2 deaths so far and 19 seriously critical cases

0.2% death rate and 2% seriously critical

about half of those who tested positive are non-symptomatic

The finance minister of Germany’s Hesse state, Thomas Schäfer, has killed himself after apparently becoming “deeply worried” about how to deal with the economic impact of coronavirus, the Local reports.
“We are in shock, we are in disbelief and above all we are immensely sad,” state premier Volker Bouffier said in a statement.
