The finance minister of Germany’s Hesse state, Thomas Schäfer, has killed himself after apparently becoming “deeply worried” about how to deal with the economic impact of coronavirus, the Local reports.
“We are in shock, we are in disbelief and above all we are immensely sad,” state premier Volker Bouffier said in a statement.

The lockdown will cause a lot of deaths, sadly. The projected death rate if we didn’t was astronomical though. As much as I hate to admit it, it’s the lesser of two evils.

The Germans are VERY uptight as a nation over the issue of debt. It's hardwired into them to be prudent.

Still, what a shame someone thought prudence is most important of all at a time like this.

It has shown a consistent downturn, apart from the initial spike, both before and after lockdown !!! Almost no difference....

You can take almost any bit of data and twist it to how you want to see it. I look at it more like a forest fire - it ripped through a region until there was barely anything left to burn and then presumably would have then spread to other regions just as hard if the lockdown had not occurred.

But at a different rate, why is that when lockdown only started on the 9/3.........

But now ask how many people who went to Cheltenham have caught or died from the virus. Similarly how many supporters who packed into Anfield with the Italians have caught or died from the virus....

I’m conflicted on this for lots of reasons but the whole problem with the virus is that we won’t know how many people from there have spread it to who’ve subsequently died.

I have however recieved a message today that a couple I usually see at aintree and other meetings have bought caught the virus and sadly they husband had just passed away . They were both at Cheltenham.
