The startling lack of imagination to replace 2 plus hours of a football with an old film. thats what.

ITV must have tons of football in their archives; a certain title deciding match springs to mind. So they have had time to cobble something together that the football supporter could enjoy. For a change.
Also, is "So they have had time to cobble something together that the football supporter could enjoy. For a change." you joking? This is a joke, right? lol

A whole match would be a terrible idea, I agree. But imagine if they did a programme about past WCs or Euros, or the league when they had the rights. Something to look forward to in the sporting wasteland at least.
Meh. I don't see why they can't show something sports-related at a different time. The only reason it's that time is because it's an international match... it'd have to be something special to go in that prime time slow. I think Star Wars is a good choice, but any other recent big budget film would have sufficed. :)

I know it feels daft complaining about the lack of football on TV, after what, 2 weeks? But after the BBC cheered us up last weekend with those 1/4 final matches, was hoping ITV might give it a go. The game was postponed ages ago. Well, it feels ages ago.

You reckon they will????

So I was made to self isolate 2 weeks ago due to the kids having a cough and the wife being a little unwell the week before that. Back Monday , nothing wrong with me the whole time and part from 2-3 shop runs in that time, have stayed in the house.

So now the wife since yesterday has got a dry cough , fever and headaches.

Rang work and the official line is because I'm not showing any symptoms and these symptoms in the wife may have took their time showing , I'm fine to return.

Which now has me worried. I don't know if what he wife has is IT or its just unwell again. If she does have it then I now prove a risk to others. After all, I'm not going anywhere to get the virus myself to pass on. However official advice is to go back to work?!

Hopefully she recovers and it's nothing , she is on the lemsips now so we will see in a few days.

What makes it worse is that I can't go back and say this in the office because it would create panic! Even though I have been advised to return.

It's not the flu.

You can absolutely not return to work. Don’t go in and if the bosses try disciplinary action they won’t have a leg to stand on. I’d also inform your coworkers

We do have a group chat for the office so I will mention it in there if she is no better / worse by Sunday.

This was the exact reason I didn't want to self isolate these past 2 weeks. I knew something like this would happen or at some point in the future I have symptoms. On the face of it I look like a chancer just trying to stay off, even though they sent me home in the first place.

However if I did stay off it would have to be holiday / unpaid work.

All I can think is that the wife hasn't got it , given I have not been unwell and she hasn't left the house to get it.

I make that something like 3000 new cases and not far off 200 deaths :(

edit : and about 9000 new tests, so roughly 1 in 3 positive.

A very important point has been made on Twitter.

Since yesterday, they have been reporting the number of deaths of those hospitalised. Prior to that they didn't mention hospitalisation, only deaths of those tested positive...

I hope this isn't a deliberate skewing of the data.
