@Kenshin this illness will be so mild that for most people who get it (since they can't get tests) it will be a case of them probably not even knowing they've had it.

And that to me is a positive in terms of the mortality rate for this thing. The actual cases will be so much higher than the officially reported cases, that the death percentage will be lower.

Others it knocks for six like a bad flu but they see it off and are back up and running within a week.

Others it will obviously have more of an impact. That could be down to any factors; age, general health, underlying conditions, if they're a smoker/heavy drinker, containment/close to others who have had it for a long period of time (Italy and Spain's lockdowns playing a part here), or even genetics.

Not saying you don't know this or are saying otherwise, but there's a lot of hysteria online etc about getting this illness. It absolutely will not have any discernable impact on most people. Might knock you for a few days at worse. Some people are acting like everyone who gets it is out of action for a week/can't move a muscle.

Boris will be fine, and can expect first class treatment, while others have been left to slowly asphyxiate, because overwhelmed health services (as a direct consequence of this man/governments herd immunity policies) couldn't consider them a priority.

That hasn't yet happened on a large scale here, thank God.

The whole point of these current measures is to try and make sure it doesn't happen.

The NHS needed to be better funded and prepared and this gov have done a crap job. But relatively speaking we are doing very well in terms of deaths (I know, it's horrible still) compared to where Italy and Spain were at the same time.

What we need to avoid is a massive spike. Hopefully we can do. The main worry for me is getting these tests to NHS staff. We need to know who has had it or not so that we can ensure 50% of workers aren't self-isolating. That's when the death rate will spike.

Maybe I didn't explain it correctly I'll try again, if I had heart disease, caught the flu and then had a heart attack and died, my cause of death would be given as a heart attack. Now if you had heart disease, caught the corona virus and had a heart attack and died your cause of death would be given as corona virus.
Currently there is 19 deaths in Ireland from corona virus, all of whom had underlying conditions, most or all of whom would likely have died if they caught flu, but if it was the case that these 19 had the flu when they died they wouldn't all have flu as cause of death the underlying condition would be the cause.

The situation is difficult because lots of different countries are applying different methods to how they are measuring the virus. I don't have an answer to that mate but it's an excellent question. Maybe different nations could agree on the parameters. At this time, no-one knows the true infection rate or even morbidity.

Need to be finding that bint who sneezed on you yesterday.
I'm concerned now for the health of an 88 year old man whom I was assisting late yesterday evening. He was very frail and knew he shouldn't have been out.
He was however attempting to purchase £1100 worth of Google play cards to send off the codes to someone who had fixed his computer, and then was going to Western Union some more money tomorrow.
Bless him, he had no idea he was being scammed bit the scumbag gobshites has access to his computer.
I managed to get hold of his bank for him, which wasn't easy as all the call centres were closed it seemed and stopped his accounts as you could see they were switching money between accounts to make it all look genuine.
They kept phoning him and I had to pretend to be him to buy him some time.
The way they talked was genuinely haunting.
Luckily a bizzie popped in to get some shopping and calmed the arl boy down and we saved him all his life savings it would have seemed.

And as I was using his ancient mobile phone and vice versa, I just hope this episode hasn't made him poorly too.
