I dont know the total figure for these bail out's but wouldn't it be easier to just give everyone in the country of working age a set wage, in work ,ill , out of work absolutely everyone?

Would have been far, far easier but the problem with that is it would have been extremely popular and led to calls for a Universal Basic Income to remain after this.

Which is something the deeply ideological extreme right wing current version of the Tories couldn't stomach doing.

Unreal.

Is there anyone who actually doesn't now think this lot need replacing ASAP?

Essentially corporate manslaughter on an industrial scale isn't it?

Been catching up with some family members today to see how covid19 is impacting them.

My sister and her daughter work in admin roles for the NHS and are both based at the Royal Liverpool. She said they're gearing up for an expected big increase in cases from next week. If it happens, she and the rest of the clerical staff will be taking over some of the tasks from the day wards, releasing the medical staff for virus duties. Things like feeding patients, portering, answering phones etc. She normally takes minutes for the finance director so she won't know what's hit her:). Seriously though she's understandably more than a bit concerned from a health perspective.

One of my brothers was diagnosed with leukaemia in December. He's had one intensive bout of chemo and went back into the Royal yesterday for a further in house chemo session, and was due to be in for another 3/4 weeks. He's been tested for covid-19 (because the chemo wipes out his immune syndrome and would kill him if he had the virus) and is waiting on the results. But he's just been told that, even if the test comes back clear they still might decide not to go ahead with the chemo because they might need the ICU bed he will be taking up for the coronavirus patients. It's a conundrum for them. The last chemo session was a great success and they wanted to follow it up quickly whilst they were winning the fight. But the flip side is that, apart from taking up a potentially crucial ICU bed, he'd also be in an building swimming with covid-19 with little or no immune system. These are the sort of decisions our doctors are having to make daily and the epidemic is nowhere near anticipated levels yet.

It must be distressing to walk into a coronavirus environment. They really should put people like your brother well away from potential coronavirus patients. They should use the private hospitals for this very purpose.....

Good luck mate. We found it bewildering.
Finally people are realising Duncan-Smiths baby does not work.....3rd rate tech, staff cuts, remote access from the folk who really need help. The workers in the dwp who actually have to deal with the [Poor language removed] thrown at them by governments of all hues do the best in trying do their job, but are pillorised as Nazis. Blame the right wing twunts (including Blairs lot) who encouraged the "scroungers" mentality....perhaps the folk who liked the scroungers mentality, now faced with a UC claim will realise that its not that easy.

That would be the common sense approach. But they may be saving these for the virus

I'm not sure it's all joined up yet

What will the time after this be like for us? I can see many people permanently working from home, as companies realise that they may not need to hire or buy massive office blocks, and will save lots of money on that alone, employees will save on commute both money and time, people who are working from home may move away from urban areas and play their part in revitalising rural communities. This I think will be the biggest change in life after Corona.

If you suffer from a heart attack or other potentially fatal event and also contract the CCP Flu, then the heart attack will be recorded as your cause of death.
I'm getting a tattoo reading

This Monty and he's a blue
Got Covid 19 and went an odd hue
Never got up again alas
Now he's got a requiem mass

I'll try and hold on until the leagie is declared void then I'll go with a huge smile held in place by rigor mortis
