Yeah my cousin was driven to depression as a result of losing his business.
I'm sorry about your cousin.

There was no perfect answer early day. Mistakes honest and otherwise were made.
My grandma and uncle both lived in nursing homes. Both died from COVID because the people that cared for them and others they were around weren't careful

That’s not the same as the government forcing you to close though is it? And then later it being revealed that they did it “to scare the pants off us” (source: M. Hancock). That’s a set of circumstances.
Every government did lockdowns to some degree or another and think it was the right thing to do and would personally support it again in similar circumstances.
It was an uncertain time.

18 months into the pandemic it wasn’t an uncertain time though mate. I agreed with the initial lockdown in early 2020 and still agree that that was the right thing to do at the time. What I’m talking about isn’t that period.

Our health board and local authority (la) due to the belief the national government was going down the bat poop crazy herd immunity route were in the process to repurpose the leisure center as a morgue and la workers were beginning to be repurposed as body collectors and carriers, thankfully that changed from the Friday to the Monday when lock down was announced there was tantamount relief that main priority was going to save life's as should any functional modern democracy.

Victoria had the longest lockdown in the world, it was horrendous, the reason for it I think was because they basically had no idea what to do. They chose to try and keep as many people alive as possible until the vaccine arrived. As tough as it was I can’t really argue the logic

For me we are in that unknown zone between pandemic and endemic.
We could technically been in the endemic stage, but we just don't have enough data/time to see it.
We'll find out after the fact that we moved to the endemic stage.
I didn’t realize “endemic” had an epidemiological definition! I have seen it in biology but had to look up the context in which you used it. I didn’t look up the definitions but it seems that…

Endemic = background rate of infection in a given area
Epidemic = elevated rates of infection in a given area
Pandemic = elevated rates of infection everywhere

You saying Jeff Bezos was involved in starting Covid?

Not necessarily, but let’s just say Rishi Sunak has close ties to Amazon.

Ministers must declare the financial interests of their close family – including in-laws – which might give rise to a conflict, but Sunak has declared only one of the companies that his wife owns. A host of other family assets – including a £900m-a-year joint venture with Amazon in India, owned by his father-in-law – are not mentioned, according to the Guardian.

Amazon's profits went through the roof worldwide not just the UK.

How did Sunak help Amazon in France?

Yep. We don't know if the current level is or will be the background rate (including if there will be seasonal levels like flu) so still technically pandemic, but could later be revised to endemic.

Which of course will be completely misunderstood by a segment of the population
