Amazing. I couldn't get on a flight to Ireland from Germany without a negative test and a vaccine cert last year, but we're going to allow planes from China land in Europe, are we? Their vaccines don't work and they refuse to take ours. Why are we allowing this?

Here in Berlin, you have to wear a mask on the U-Bahn. I mean, why if we are going to allow planeloads of effectively unvaccinated Chinese into the country?

Was only the other day we are to scrap further monitoring in UK because of success of vaccines and therapeutic treatments, so must be a worry of a variant. Could be some politics putting pressure on China regime after their protest but runs the risk of sinophobia within nations applying such restrictions.



Not that USA can crow they have their variant of concern.



And anyone thinking it's over for us in the UK give your head a wobble out of your bottom.

Even as an enthusiast of all things China, I am stunned by how badly the CCP have f&&ked this. The WHO couldn’t kiss their arse quickly enough in 2020, damaging their reputation in the process and now this?

It is still a cause for concern but the most recent data we have shows that deaths due to covid made up less than 2% of fatalities in the UK. To put that into context, that’s way behind Alzheimer’s and Dementia, heart disease, seasonal flu etc etc.

Even with its added risk factors at the moment, if there's a reason to do it for China there's a reason to do it for all countries. Everywhere has loads of covid plus once Chinese people go elsewhere, the original point of origin of the infected person with that variant just doesn't matter.

And if they have reason enough to be worried, meaning the consequences are a return to 2020/2021, then there shouldn't be travel at all. Anything else is just theatre, especially vaccine passes to get in.

Now to make it clear I'm not behind that being done now, but that's the reality and always was.

Don't need another lock down if people are sensible.
Isolate yourself if you have any respitory symptoms. Or at least
Wear a mask if in crowded indoor situations.
They do reduce the spread of respitory virus, they reduce the spraying of moisture particles that carry the virus.
