Pretty sure people are too tired to even comment on the "its just flu" types in 2022.

Whats the point?

They usually occupy the same intersection of the Venn Diagram as Trump supporters, Climate change deniers, racists etc. There is nothing you can say to someone who has chosen to be so profoundly and obviously wrong on such a range of topics, so it's best to leave them posting their really "interesting" ideas into a vacuum from their mother's basement

Flu deaths were most definitely down last year. Significantly so, but not to the extent of 100%

I know that, it hasn't gone away as some people seem to think.

Last winter we still had mask wearing, social distancing which would reduce the spread of Flu.

And people were overly cautious about entering workplace when they had flu like symptoms because there were incentives to not go into work when sick.

Basically the way we're carrying on now, the virus is still around, but everyone is just pretending it's not there!

I still wear a face mask when i'm out and about, but on the bus most of the time, there's only two or three other people wearing one.

There's about ten people at my work place and only the two of us wear masks, me and another fella. Some people are of the opinion that masks are just some sort of placebo effect, but the way i see it, i'm all for anything that reduces the amount of virus particles i come into contact with.

Two weeks ago there was this pig ignorant man at the very front of the bus, coughing up a storm and making no attempt to cover his coughs.

As long as people like him are around, then i'll continue to wear my face mask! It's the height of ignorance, when you are that unwell to be out and about spreading your germs to other people.

I was speaking about something similar in my above post. The dirty animal coughing his lungs out on the bus, had no mask on either. God help the people sitting in front of him, and around his general vicinity.

That's the reason why i only sit down the back, to avoid having people like him sitting directly behind me. Mandatory mask wearing should still be in place for public transport imo.

If you`re wearing a mask why are you worried about other people not wearing one? You`re "protected" by your mask ffs!

Well no, masks are mainly to protect other people, they are less effective in protecting yourself, depending on the mask type of course.

In a way i get that but not for the obvious reasons. Wearing a mask and breathing your own germs all day is very unhealthy and they`re totally ineffective at protecting you from anything except spittle.

TBH, I don’t give a crap anymore. My wife and I have suffered through this period and she is suffering in a way that I didn’t expect and am struggling to cope with. If Covid now takes us both then so be it, at least it’s done and we go together, we had a good life…..,

Sorry to hear you sounding so defeatist Pete. Everyone’s suffered, although to different degrees of course. Look after your missus mate, and reach out to those around you to help if you need it. Nothing wrong with that.
