You couldn't get a lot of these people to wear a mask, let alone keep them in lockdown.
Yes very true, imagine complying with a lockdown at this stage of proceedings. Not for me thank you very much.

I think if you look back through my posting history, you'll see a largely non binary outlook.I completely agree. This is going very well!

I know and you didn't come across like thatI’m not actually accusing you of being one of those maniacs demanding a segregated society by the way. Apologies if it came across that way.
No it's a figure I've plucked out the air.
And it wouldn't be 1-2% for 1-2 weeks. It would be a reduction in risk of spreading for 1-2% of the population.
Probably best to use actually data in the future. We've got enough to deal with without letting our imagination do the work for us.
Because vaccination reduces transmission thus reduces virus circulation.
You couldn't get a lot of these people to wear a mask, let alone keep them in lockdown.
I've seen varying data across different studies that gives differing levels of reduced transmission which vary from strain to strain.Vaccinations have a minimal impact on transmission and only for a matter of weeks, I do not know if it is 1, 2, 4 or another number but it is not sustained.
Was always going to be stretch, when people just don't get a informed ethical education.
Im sure you could also question the ethical decision of forcing lockdown on people because they won't get vaccinatedWas always going to be stretch, when people just don't get a informed ethical education.
Populism and vanity is not my thing, so don't rightly care...Im sure you could also question the ethical decision of forcing lockdown on people because they won't get vaccinated
That was certainly not the case with Delta and although there was waning over that doesn’t appear to be clear metrics around what timeframe that is and the effect of boosters. Have not seen data for Omicron either.Vaccinations have a minimal impact on transmission and only for a matter of weeks, I do not know if it is 1, 2, 4 or another number but it is not sustained.

Nicely put. That was certainly not the case with Delta and although there was waning over that doesn’t appear to be clear metrics around what timeframe that is and the effect of boosters. Have not seen data for Omicron either.
Your statements seem far more definitive that the apparent evidence available.
How effective are the vaccines at preventing transmission?![]()
How well do vaccines protect against Omicron? What the data shows – UK Health Security Agency
*Data presented in this blog is accurate as of Thursday, February 10, but is subject to change over time. For the latest data on vaccine effectiveness, read the UKHSA’s Vaccine Surveillance Reports, published weekly. Since the rollout of COVID-19 vaccinesukhsa.blog.gov.uk
A UKHSA study which looked at the Delta variant showed the COVID-19 vaccines prevent some transmission in the weeks after a jab is administered. A more recent rapid review by UKHSA of a number of other studies also concluded the vaccines provide some protection against transmission, and that for Delta this wanes substantially over time.
What did the UKHSA study show for Delta?
Effectiveness of the vaccines against transmission of the Delta variant:
After two doses of AstraZeneca: Estimated at 42%
After two doses of Pfizer: Estimated at 31%
Note: This study did not assess levels of waning over time. Studies into how well the vaccines prevent transmission of the Omicron variant are still underway.
