For people who are generally healthy enough for international travel, the risk of being hospitalized after vaccination is pretty remote.Unfortunately, it really doesn't. I wish it was the case. It does reduce the risk a lot though, obviously. And everybody should get vaccinated IMO, but I'm not gonna scream and shout at people who don't. They have their reasons, even if I don't agree.
Nah, the vaccine passports are a lot less about that mate. They're more about 'you'll spread it if you're unvaccinated', which frankly is a bit daft if you've tested negative for the virus upon entry.
Trouble is all us plebs knew what was needed to get in Australia and how difficult... He thought along with Australian government they could bring him in because of his status. Once it got out into the public domain the government got such a backlash they backtracked when he was midflight, this where I do have sympathy for him, but that's politics. More importantly makes tennis interesting and inclusive for oncelAt least they are consistent.
The whole thing is ridiculous. From both sides and nobody comes out of this looking good. But I suppose everybody knows where they stand now, in terms of going to Australia. Just don't bother going if your not jabbed.

You’re right that the messaging around vaccine passports has been that they will somehow mitigate the spread. That’s never really been true.
IMO, if they would reframe the messaging where it was “If you’re going to engage in behavior that is high risk of contracting COVID, then you need to be able to prove you’ve taken steps to ensure you’re unlikely to be a burden on health services” then more people might be accepting of them.
Yeah for once, I agree with you.Trouble is all us plebs knew what was needed to get in Australia and how difficult... Throw him out

I haven't got a clue how to make them see sense mate.
Perfect example this morning, seen someone on social media sharing anti vax nonsense. She is in her 20s and recently spent a month in hospital from covid including some time in ICU. What's the chances of that happening if she was vaccinated?
I get that mate.
But, then the argument could come back to well why then let anybody with any vulnerabilities in?
And I don't mean stuff like cancer, but for example, where do you draw the line?
Do you stop obese people coming into your country? They're a potential burden on the health services aren't they? Not just with COVID. A 25 stone person is more likely to have a heart attack, for example, than a 12 stone person who is keeps fit.
So it's a weird line to draw.
Yeah I've seen all that stuff. I only didn't reference it because I thought Nolan had lost loads of weight and I've seen people share photos of him from before he did that. But I agree with your point. The BBC’s Stephen Nolan would be far, far more likely to burden the health service than Djokovic, including directly from covid. I understand this will probably upset people and cause absolute mayhem in this thread but just thought I’d get that out there.
reminds me of the jewish population in eastern europe with yellow stars sown into their clothing walking through the streets of krakow.....chilling!May I add to that they make him walk with crowds throwing rotten food at him and then when he is about to board to leave, four officers go to town on him with batons paying particular attention to his ribs. Then he can take off - then throw him out - of the plane.![]()

An actual obese person who has got all the jabs has still done less to protect themselves from COVID or any form of disease than someone who runs every day

I am pretty ambivalent with all this btw, as I think nobody looks good from it, but these are the official transcripts from when he was detained upon arrival
Stop screaming and shouting at people to do what you think they should tbh mate. I don't mean you in general, I mean everybody. There's too much noise. So just let them get on with it. I think everybody should get vaccinated but it's their decision. Treating them like second-class citizens, I don't think it's the answer.
If the person you use the example of is in her 20s and has been in hospital with COVID for a month then she's either very unlucky or she's got a co-morbidity of sorts mate.
Certain politicians and members of the public have been advocating an Australian approach to immigration for decades, now suddenly everyone is shocked . The Australian system hasn’t suddenly changed its just impacting on people that the media care about .I get that mate.
