Am pretty confused whether to have this booster now.

I was booked in to have it last Wednesday but I was positive for COVID on the Tuesday.

Literally apart from a blocked nose I’ve suffered no symptoms, if this omicron is milder then would the be any point?

Yeh I'm sure this will mean that working class people can just start flying to Australia. Unless you're a millionaire you have to abide by the rules.

if you can prove you have natural imunity by recently having covid,you are good to go.
some rules are different for elite sportsman,if anything blame australian law,

So, Djokovic won his case but the immigration minister is considering bouncing him anyway. It turns out that Australian immigration law is written in such a way that the minister can overrule a court's decision and cancel a visa unilaterally, which begs the question of why they bothered to establish a court in the first place.

The result of such a cancellation would be Djokovic effectively getting PNG'd for three years, according to media outlets.

He’s only being allowed to stay on the technicality that the Border Force failed to follow protocol though, correct?

Seems the obvious solution here is to simply admit the protocol wasn’t followed, and have him go back to passport control where he’s still it going to meet the criteria for entry, follow protocol to the letter, and then send him home.

You shouldn’t have it if you’ve recently tested positive.

The visa needs to be cancelled or it makes a mockery of all vaccination passports across the world.

Why is there one rule for the many and another for the well off? Disgusting.

Yeah basically the Aus government in their court papers yesterday said that unless the court's ruling said that they couldn't re-detain Djokovic, then even if he won, they'd just detain and deport him anyway.

In an ideal world there wouldn't be any vaccine passports but there's so many anti vax loonies clogging up the hospital's that there is a need. Imagine if everyone was anti vax, we'd definitely be in lockdown right now.

But vaccine passports do nothing to stop that. It's proven. If they're anti-vax, having a passport to get into a certain country isn't making them any more likely to get vaccinated by the looks.

And tbh, the only reason I'm going to still go and get my booster now I've had Omicron is because it'll let me into any country with a 3-jab mandate for entry. It's not really for health reasons that I'm bothering now.

Health care systems are stretched to the breaking point in almost every country right now. Being vaccinated virtually guarantees you’re not going to end up needing to be hospitalized due to COVID. If you want the privilege of being allowed to visit a country where the medical resources are limited, you should be able to prove that you’re unlikely to be a further burden on those struggling services. Hence the vaccine passports.

Stop screaming and shouting at people to do what you think they should tbh mate. I don't mean you in general, I mean everybody. There's too much noise. So just let them get on with it. I think everybody should get vaccinated but it's their decision. Treating them like second-class citizens, I don't think it's the answer.

If the person you use the example of is in her 20s and has been in hospital with COVID for a month then she's either very unlucky or she's got a co-morbidity of sorts mate.

The whole thing is ridiculous. From both sides and nobody comes out of this looking good. But I suppose everybody knows where they stand now, in terms of going to Australia. Just don't bother going if your not jabbed.

Unfortunately, it really doesn't. I wish it was the case. It does reduce the risk a lot though, obviously. And everybody should get vaccinated IMO, but I'm not gonna scream and shout at people who don't. They have their reasons, even if I don't agree.

Nah, the vaccine passports are a lot less about that mate. They're more about 'you'll spread it if you're unvaccinated', which frankly is a bit daft if you've tested negative for the virus upon entry.
