I'm a big fatty and somehow manage to run 3 times a week outside
lol

oh trust me I'm not a gym nut. Much prefer running/cycling outdoors. I have a turbo in the garage too so it's fine for me, and I mainly use the gym for swimming, sauna and steam. Just for some people - women especially - it's not possible in winter for people to exercise outdoors. We had all of this last winter and with an unvaccinated population it's understandable.

This time, much less so. All the modelling in the world will not change my mind on that.

Last time I checked the outside world was available?
Yeah I'll go running every day but there are lots of other things I want to do, and I actually like to see other human beings as well....

If we stop people exercising as part of health measures then we lost the run of ourselves. It is winter remember, what happens if there is a cold snap. I tried running on the ice last year!!

I agree that health is important and I do think ideally gyms should be open but if the goal of lockdown is to massively reduce cases you need to close a lot of things. This new variant will spread regardless. Schools alone will allow for massive amounts of transmission, plus you also have to factor in that a lot less people are going to comply.

I can see a review in January and cases being at the same or a higher level and then lockdown being extended yet again.

Me too - Generally in the pub, at gigs, at cinemas etc

I won't be able to do any of that

This is probably a bad sign of my mental health at the moment. After my booster I felt very fatigued and sore (neck especially). But I also felt a lot of internal relief too. Like my brain acknowledged that 'you're feeling bad, and its a legitimate reason to just have a break'.

As someone currently unemployed and feeling internally like complete sh1t 99% of the time, it was nice for my brain to give me a few days off. Usually I really struggle with the whole 'self-hating procrastinating because you're not using all of your time as efficiently as possible but ultimately end up achieving nothing anyway' cycle.

Not sure how well that I have articulated this.

It's absolutely horrendous mate. Lockdowns damage people. Personally during the lockdowns I end up drinking far too much on a daily basis and not training because there's nothing else to do.

It's going to be difficult to get through another one.
Agreed mate, the media's lack of concern for mental wellbeing while pushing their agendas is a source of much consternation for me.
