I see your point, I do get it. I'm too a bit worried that in April we'll suddenly see this 4th jab thing. They might as well just say now this is going to have to be a yearly vaccination along with the flu jab or whatever, because that seems likely to be the case.

But, right now even though the data from South Africa is good, you need more real-world evidence. Norway and Denmark appear to be a few days ahead of the UK, so these two countries are basically the pilots for Omicron in Europe too.

I just don't agree with all this idea that it will kill thousands like it's a guaranteed thing. Or the concept that this variant despite being reported as milder will do something delta wouldn't do?

The two don't go hand in hand. Infection doesn't mean death, it may have done for a long time without antibodies but it doesn't mean it now. With 120 million vaccinations in 90% of the population , why is that suddenly irrelevant? Those predicted deaths could also have 3/4 jabs in them, does that not count for something?

That's where I am coming from. It's the assumption that it will kill thousands despite the vaccine. It's the whole idea that people with 2 jabs are suddenly seen as no better off as an anti vaxxer which isn't true. So a milder version of a virus in a population vaccinated up to the nines, it may not stop people getting it which was never the case anyway, but those antibodies have to factor in. All this information is ignoring that fact , which you know deep down I'm right about.
 
Sorry anti-vaxxers but I’m not one to take the advice of a bimbo (Stella McCartney) a one hit wonder from the 90s (Right Said Fred) or a fake television doctor who goes around sniffing people’s poo (Gillian McKeith) seriously. However, you’re free to do so, just don’t expect much sympathy from people who aren’t hard of thinking if you’re excluded from doing things you’d like to do.

I'm in that weird situation where I'll take the vaccine because I'm told to, even though I don't believe a word they say (basically an anti vaxxer vaccine taker - as anti vaccine mandates/coercion basically means anti all vaccines now apparently). But I'll get zero benefit from it, as I won't be showing vaccine proof to do things. Essentially written off abroad for definite and expect I won't be able to do music/go to football which are the main things I (used to) enjoy. Didn't mind it over summer as it wasn't law plus I had my second pretty late so was able to use tests. But now its law those things are behind me.

Once the mechanism is in place, there'll be more demands beyond vaccines. I'm not having any part of that

There will be a 4th dose which has been produced for the Omicron variant and that will probably end up in arms in May - July. I'm not sure whether the 5th will be pre Christmas 2022 or Spring 2023.

I would grant emergency use to those Pfizer tablets and then start getting them into mouths by Monday next week if possible too.

I genuinely believe medicine will end the pandemic overnight.

The problem that everyone is worked up about is hospitalisations within the cases. The minute you stop getting as many people needing to go into hospital for treatment, all you have left is positive tests and deaths, which aren't directly following each other.

Medicine is the missing link now , if it works we should get that out as soon as possible yeah.

I had doubts a few weeks back about the booster. I still don't think it's right that I'll be getting 3 jabs in 6 months, as will tons of other people my age, but I'll go get it. I'm as pro-vax as you can be with this thing (I just don't think anyone not getting it is a bad person). And in this case I see why they're doing it, because Omicron is so infectious that if an extra level of protection isn't out there, the hospitalisations will be too much.

At age 26 mate if you need 3 jabs after already having COVID months back then something isn't right and this aint a normal virus.

I had my 2nd jab 5 months ago and will still have active antibodies - I wont be touching a booster shot for another few months at minimum.
