Going back to the polio vaccine there has never been a vaccine that had side effects show up months or years later.
Do you think there's much of a psychosomatic aspect to people's side effects? I don't think there's ever been a time in history when people have been reading and hearing so much about side effects in the media. And there have been studies in the past that show that humans are more likely to expreience symptoms if they see/hear others around them having them. The brain is quite powerful in that respect.

Possibly. Some folks have a very low tolerance for not feeling well so maybe an exaggeration of how bad the side effects are. Although the fatigue, fever, arm soreness, etc are real. It's the effects of an immune response.

For example the notion of "man flu" - that men turn into big wusses when ill with cold/flu.

Sorry I think my use of 100% has made my point unclear. I used it as a figure of speech. I wasn’t saying they were 100% effective. I wasn’t saying that they stopped transmission by 100%.

What I was trying to say is that they definitely do reduce transmissions. They stop people from transmitting the virus to others by preventing people from contracting it in the first place.

That is what I meant. They absolutely do stop transmission. Not for everyone as they don’t prevent everyone from getting it. But they do indeed stop transmission for a significant proportion of people.

Apologies for my poorly worded comment.
If it helps I definitely take the point RAFUH raised but when I read your post I took it as you meant it , whether that’s a local language thing or whatever but I kind of knew what you meant .

No need to apologize. We've all done it. I've told folks a "flu shot will stop you getting flu" because that's easy, but it isn't quite accurate and I think now with the vaccine hesitant it has come around to bite us on the butt. The sales pitch was - get the vaccine to stop COVID - then we had all these breakthrough cases and transmissions.

It's all changed how I talk to patients about vaccines.
That’s really interesting.

Hospital figures - 113 deaths were announced today, up 8 on yesterday and down 9 on last Friday. 70 deaths were in English hospitals, up 9 on yesterday and down 10 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 91.57

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 124 deaths were announced today, up 2 on yesterday and down 3 on last Friday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 107.43

For the 60 day cut off, 165 deaths were announced today, up 12 on yesterday and down 9 on last Friday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 132.43

I got weird shooting pains in my arm 2-3 days after my 2nd jab and still get them on occasion 2 months later.

God knows what long term effects it could have on you hence why Im not clamouring for kids to be given it when their risk from Covid are so small.
Yes! Totally agree.

Exactly that..it's a very dull ache. Then every so often a shooting pain. It's pisding me off now...

I have no doubt this is a factor. As you say the brain is very powerful. I remember years ago when I genuinely thought there was something seriously wrong with me. Being a young idiot I didn’t go to the doctor and things got worse. When I eventually did go to the doctor there was nothing wrong with me but the anxiety I had brought upon myself by taking too long to see someone was making everything worse. The day I got all my test results back everything vanished. Was completely ok again. It was really weird.

I’m not trying to call anyone out here but I do find it interesting that people that are more sceptical of the vaccine are experiencing issues more than people that are 100% on board with them. I really wonder if there is something psychological going on there.

I’ve read before that medical students often think they have various health issues as they are researching and dealing with them constantly. Our brains can really do a number on us

Why do kids need it? Seriously

At first it was the vulnerable, thens it’s help the vulnerable save the nhs. Now it’s try and force it on kids.

Im double jabbed just for the sake of it but to be fully honest rekon it’s complete pony, I’ve got a 6 month old daughter so obviously she’s not getting it but even if I had a kid under 12, not a chance in the world would they be getting it.

If you’ve come this far and still don’t get it then there’s no chance. Children do get it and they then spread it. They might not get seriously ill themselves (some do though) but they can pass it on to people that might. I’m not sure if what you posted here is your own thoughts or from somewhere else. But wherever it is from it is deluded

I don't think kids under 16 should be getting vaccinated.. we need to see long term side effects first..
