I am not saying people should use ivermectin to treat covid, but to just pass it off as a horse dewormer is wrong. It is a legitimate medicine suitable for human use, again just to clarify, from what I have read it has not been proven to be an effective treatment for covid.

This horse de wormer narrative is weird.

people are literally taking horse dewormer to treat COVID though, just as they were taking hydrochloroquine last year

I agree that is stupid.

The only point I am making is that Ivermectin is actually a medicine that is used in humans, there seems to be a notion that all ivermectin = horse de wormer and that is not true.

It has been used to treat Malaria, however this is still only at the research stage. Plus these studies will have controls such as dosage, length of treatment, frequency of treatment etc. Totally different to buying a bottle intended for animals and drinking it. Or eating a tube of ivermectin paste.

So its being trialled in humans - used is an overstatement. So yes its still stupid to take Ivermectin

I read about Ivermectin 18 months a go about it being heavily used in Africa and South America i think to treat parasitic infections etc.. Then the whole world went crazy over it! One i did read though, was they are discouraging Ivermectins use as it is extremely cheap to produce and readily available. Unlike new expensive vaccines... HMmmmm lol

The stupidity of some humans have no boundaries. Some of these antivaxers are refusing to take a vaccine because according to them it has not fully researched but then instead rather to expose their bodies to treatments such as Ivermectin that have not proven to work on Covid. Some people are now even inhaling hydrogen peroxide to try to cure it

For the 60 day cut off, 190 deaths were announced today, up 155 on yesterday and down 9 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 134.71

Just when I thought things couldn’t get more pathetic than the anti-mask Karens conspiring last week on Facebook to get the local schools shut down, they’ve managed to surprise me still. Since that day, schools have reopened, but in one particularly affluent area of town, dozens of parents now stand outside the school every morning with anti-mandate signs, while they heckle and harass compliant grade school children as they walk into school every morning.

Also, the mask policy is that children are given a warning, but if they refuse to follow the rules they are placed in isolation where their parents are then called to come pick them up. However, the anti-maskers are refusing to pick their kids up, in order to avoid eventual truancy charges, and leaving the schools just stuck with them. Meanwhile, even though they won’t pick their kids up, they are however ordering and having pizzas delivered into the school for the isolated kids every day. Why the school is allowing this is beyond me.

So at this point, the consequences of not following the mask mandate are a daily pizza party with your anti-mask friends, and not really having to do your schoolwork.

This is what new medicine is all about, ultimately. Trial and error.

The vaccines aren't a 'treatment' for COVID. They're a vaccine. They don't stop you getting it, they reduce the chances. They don't stop you getting ill, they just reduce the chances.

COVID's going to be around for years and years so if there is some medicinal treatment that can be developed to help treat it then that should be done.

And before the usual people start, obviously I don't mean shove in horse de-wormer.

Its all about a day on the beer.
I'll cheer for the Aussies...or whoever is winning, at the end I'll say...the boys did good.
Given the brittle batting of both sides, I think it'll turn into a - who can collapse first and fastest.
Can't see them going ahead mate and frankly, nor should they.

Would be a good blow for that ludicrous government of yours, hopefully.

(Do want them to go ahead from the sporting perspective, mind!)

So for ages I scoffed at all the doom merchants scaremongering about the virus and the vaccine....
Sure I had my doubts about the vaccine, given there's no way you could market something as safe with such a short turnaround....

However I am starting to question more and more the benefits of said vaccine and the increasing pressure being put on people to get it...

This is purely based on my own experiences..
Nan and her husband both caught covid after their jabs (astra zeneca)

Me and my partner both managed to avoid covid pre jab...
Oddly we've both since caught it after having the jab....

She was assured there was hardly any risk to getting the jab, yet after the first one she ended up in hospital due to her kidneys near shutting down....
After the second one she had abnormal bleeds and despite being on the pill fell pregnant...
When speaking to the midwife we were told that quite a lot of women are reporting similar issues....

So you can surely forgive me for starting to doubt the benefits of this vaccine...
Wouldn't surprise me if there's a class action lawsuits filed against astra zeneca in the not too distant future

Tin foil hat time but it feels very much like the phalanx vaccine if you ask me (nod to world war z)
I guess that's because you, your partner and everyone else in the country is doing a lot more after getting your jabs than when we were in lockdown...

Look, the vaccines aren't there to stop you getting COVID. There they're to stop loads of people ending up in hospital.

Now, like you, I'm not into people screaming and shouting at others or calling them thick or evil for not getting it. But if everyone is vaccinated then it makes the whole thing a lot less dangerous.

Sorry to hear about your partner's issues, it's very unfortunate, and luckily in the grand scheme, very rare. Hopefully they continue to refine this thing but look, it's better to be refining the protective measures against COVID, than waiting for people to get COVID and not being able to treat them.
