I get what you're saying but the risk profile has changed in a lot of peoples minds. If you're double vaccinated and your family member is double vaccinated the chance of death or major illness is reduced massively, I'm pretty sure I seen a statistic that nobody double vaccinated under 50 in the UK has died from covid. Unless some sort of variant comes in which isn't even the case yet. If we had a vaccine resistant variant fair enough but thats not the case currently.

This country is absolutely finished in the long run unless they increase the size of the NHS.

I'm double vaccinated, under 50 and above average fitness running about 20miles a week. I'm awaiting a PCR test result but seems like I've got it. Seems my eldest child picked it up at a festival.

So far it feels like I've been hit by a bus. First high temp and headaches and now feels like someone sitting on my chest.

Tbf if he took it at work - which I mean I don't know why you would if you're a doctor in a pandemic but hey ho - they have no choice.

Mask wearing isn't ever going to not be a thing in hospitals again and, frankly, it's probably for the best.

Just take it easy mate. Don't stress too much because you might feel better straight away. It could also last a few days and symptoms vary from person to person. The stress of thinking 'oh crap I've got COVID' and then you think where you got it from and who you got it from etc, it all just builds up and makes it worse. If you're fit and well and double jabbed then you're in the best position possible to shake it off. For most people it's a 3-4 day bug, just be wary when exercising afterwards. Again though, depends on each person.

It's why I didn't do a PCR. I knew I had it, what was the point in going and doing a PCR and getting track and trace belling me every day asking where I'd been and who I'd seen. But also nothing wrong with getting one to be safe I know.

Cheers thanks. I guess I thought it'd be a lot milder. A night or two ago it felt quite anxious with a really high temp and I'm now today a bit peechy for breath just walking up the stairs. Makes me appreciate getting vaccinated when I did.
 
Queen Anna of Queensland let in....waived The rules... The cricketers, the R L players, the ARL, players...and all the WAGS and their kids...and the Officials.
But Australian Soldiers coming back from Afghanistan - NO. your application hasnt been processed yet.
Until a wife blew the whistle to the press and it hit the fan good style.
3hrs later all the paper work is suddenly cleared...it was alway cleared said "an official" it was just a communication malfunction.

What are the lockdowns like over there at the moment? The Sydney one is carrying on for a while isn't it but states vary?

iirc, Melbourne is TOP of the world lockdown day table.
WA, is like N Korea, there are no lockdowns and no virus...and no opinions, except 1
ALL of Vic & NSW is locked down, but 50% of the rural local govt areas of each state have NO cases. 65% have less than 10 cases.
Great Sydney and Gtr Melbourne, say a 50 miles radius have all the cases - but the whole state pays the price.
Queensland has managed to keep it out but, so far, but the PM is losing touch with reality...a bit like Maggie towards the end.

Sometime in the future the real Federal PM whoever they are will force a rewrite of the constitution to stop these tinpot tossers playing silly buggers with peoples live for party political reason...and calling it...we're following the science...when it suits them.
Total [Poor language removed] show, dogs breakfast, you couldn't make it up, etc, call it what you like, but thats what it is.

Gladys, Anna, Dan, mcgowan. They've all had a taste of what being a supreme leader feels like and they're not giving it up anytime soon.

Things have moved on since Lincolns time, you don't have to fool ALL of the people ALL of the time, just 51% once every few years.
So you cant even say they'll get biffed out when people see through them

Not sure what you mean by the situation in WA? I have family in Perth and it seems okay as most places but to be honest we've not really caught up properly in a while.
