I disagree that a complete removal of freedoms and that restricting livelihoods in the long run is the answer. The only solution is to minimise deaths. With respect if you don't want to be around unmasked people don't go to pubs and restaurants.

It's only due to modern medicine that many who succumb to covid (and other causes) have lived as long as they have.

If you actually look around when you go to town etc. it is quite eye opening to see how many people appear to be in very poor health.

I still think that we have some responsibility for a while longer until covid becomes fully endemic but this modified behaviour cannot go on forever

Hospital figures - 162 deaths were announced today, up 132 on yesterday and up 5 on last Tuesday. 153 deaths were in English hospitals, up 135 on yesterday and down 1 on last week. The 7 day rolling average rises to 84.43

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 174 deaths were announced today, up 134 on yesterday and up 4 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 100.71

For the 60 day cut off, 191 deaths were announced today, up 148 on yesterday and down 2 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 113.43

In fact, you are doing anti vaxxers good. Some undecided will say, even if i get the jab, they will still ask me to stay masked indefinitely everywhere, so whats the point.

No, we wont change the way we live our lives, I never ate bat in my life or any other wild animal for that matter, I wont pay the price of Chinese life style.

I don't smoke and put others near me in danger, never done. I don't eat fast food/junk food, I dont use Amazon etc so that delivery guys not polluting world thanks to me. I care. But no, I never ever wore a surgical mask till 2020, its a medical thing by definition, not suited to everday life (yeah I dont care about Japanese or Chinese do) and I will not switch to somebody else at the age of 28. I refuse to get scared of other people's breaths. I got vaxxed, and its over for me. I will now live like pre 2019. Cuz I was living differently already.

As I said, ban Marlboro etc? Full support from me.

Re the care home deaths in your initial post, found this - still awaiting a breakdown on how the recent rise is distributed.

How refreshing to see someone who undoubtedly knows more about this that 99% of the population essentialy saying "I don't know".

A few months ago he was spreading blatant anti-vax nonsense that 10% of people who get the vaccine will become "seriously ill" (that would equate to 4.2 million people) so I really wouldn't pay much attention to what he says on this or any other subject, really.
