From a Czech perspective, I think they're kinda running up against the limits of those who actually want the vaccine and there has been no meaningful surge in Delta cases (yet).

PHE have started separating them as best they can - the “exclusion“ category removes those whose test date and admission date are the same on the basis these people may be those that “come in with Covid“ versus “come in due to Covid”. Of course this will also undercount those who didn’t know/test for Covid but came in because of its symptoms



Exclusion figure all cases 2216 and inclusion 3692 so still a high % admissions appear due to Covid itself, any detail on how the Telegraph calculated 50%?

Behind the paywall for me too. Without more info inclined to believe the PHE published data snd the, admittedly anecdotal, reports from frontline NHS doctors that seeing lots of Covid sufferers.

Also even if everyone is being treated for something else than Covid but are infected that still poses huge healthcare challenges and requires reopening up of specific Covid wards

When giving hospitalised numbers it should be categorised in 3 ways.
1. Those who are admitted to hospital due to Covid
2. Those who caught covid in hospital.
3. Those who went to hospital for other ailments and tested positive on a routine test.

Daily death counts at this point are quite the farce, we dont have daily cancer deaths, heart diseases deaths and so on.

Lock the whole country down to the unvaccinated and then carry on I say.

These deaths have been baked in for weeks now unfortunately. SAGE and the government have said they expect deaths to be in the hundreds throughout the exit wave.

Hopefully they go the way of cases soon.
