Thank goodness the kids schools finished today for the summer.

Be arsed with the on / off isolating that’s been going on the last few weeks.

I thought I was just a crap gardener when not one poppy I planted have flowered this year.

Today I found out that not one poppy, (well, hardly any) has flowered in the UK since Covid..........how weird is that?

@Joey66 will be along time soon with an explanation.

He’s just assisting the fire brigade in getting his missus down off the roof, where she’s be re pointing the chimney stack.

The average cost of hospital care for COVID-19 patients without insurance or who receive out-of-network care varies greatly by age – from $51,389 for patients between 21- and 40-years-old to $78,569 for patients between 41 and 60 years old, according to updated cost analysis data from FAIR Health.

Blimey. So if I was say a 56 year old bloke, in decent health, not fat, nor a smoker, roughly, how much would an insurance policy cost me? One that would cover everything.

Can vary widely across the country, how much coverage you want and if your employer helps.

But this will give you a feel for it - a 55 year old on a Silver plan (covers about 70% of out of pocket costs) averages $835 a month going to up to over $1000 for a 60 year old.

Holy cow.

Not being flippant, but I would take my chances if I am honest. As a self employed/temp retired bloke.

Eeesh

Nikki's stay would have dented me, a lot, if we were in Merica.

As it was, it cost about £120 of car park charges. Mad how some there see the NHS as a bad thing.

edit. Just a thought; how do prescriptions work there?
Same way, out of pocket unless you are covered by a independent health plan or one of the government schemes Medicare/Medicaid and even then don’t always cover your exact drug or require a copay.

@RAFUH can give you all the gory details on coverage, probably with lots of swear words.
