Everythings fine.

:hayee:

The numbers are clearly going to increase, deaths follow the cases. It will be towards 200 a day by August. Will be interesting to see how high it gets.

Hopefully cases will start stabilising/dropping in the north west and north east in the next few weeks.

Mask mandates aren’t worth it anymore. More important people feel free at Maccies.
It’s horrendous: the hospitals are very near to not coping and our ambulance service is near to declaring REAP level 4 [extreme pressure]. We are seeing a lot more Covid now with cases rising. We’re taking more people into hospital who are really unwell because they’ve had to wait for treatment during lockdown. Their conditions could have been managed if they were seen earlier but now they’re deteriorating and in the acute phase. When you hear about the lifting of restrictions, people seem to forget that it’s not just about people dying of Covid: it’s the cancer patients and the ones on kidney dialysis. I totally understand people’s frustrations but we’re not in a good enough place. What’s frightening is when the media calls us “heroes” – that’s really dangerous as heroes don’t need to be protected because they don’t die, but we’re just humans, like everyone else. I still have night terrors of taking people away from their loved ones knowing they’re going to die. I’m having therapy but quite often I think: “[Poor language removed] I can’t do this. I don’t want to do this any more.” I think there’s a lot of that among colleagues as mental health cases are through the roof and people can’t cope.

This autumn and winter is going to be a horror show, children’s ward’s up and down the country are already full at the moment as serious respiratory infections (not COVID) are rampant due to the effects of prolonged isolation/lockdown on an infants immune system.

Mmm...even Achilles died. I agree with the general sentiment, though. They're portraying you as hard to kill.

What you reveal thereafter is that what you're doing right now kills health care workers in more ways than one.

The appalling senselessness of that is what reveals the true character of the government.

Anyway, I'm already feeling a lot better, just keeping up the painkillers. It's really like a bad head cold atm, the aches have gone and my throat has calmed down, just feel clammy and a bit sicky (like where your stomach feels all weird, not that you actually need to be sick).

I'm sure I'll have a bit of a rough morning tomorrow with no painkillers through the night but hoping that this is where it caps off.

You have to wonder how the NHS is ever going to get back on its feet. Was in a bad position prior to the pandemic and now its going to struggle badly. Even if covid wasn't a thing there would be major issues this winter.

Another problem thats came from tory austerity but o well, at least its not communist Corbyn etc etc.
