It includes everyone

I dont have the answers but I dont think we can afford any more lockdowns. I dont think Covid isn't going to go away either so I dont know if we have a choice but to live with it.

All we can do is encourage people to get jabbed but there are no easy solutions. Some people will never be convinced.
There is quite a large area between lockdowns and removal of all restrictions though and tbh opening up when you have this high a case number that is exponentially growing would seem to make lockdowns more, rather than less, likely.

This is amazing.

Headline: "Fox has quietly implemented its own version of a vaccine passport while its top personalities attack them"

As my father always said, "Watch my feet, not my mouth."

They probably should have moved the Olympics to the USA or UK. The Euros has obviously had a negative impact on covid rates but I think the English public generally supported it being here.

Unfortunately with how the OIympics are set up with all the thousands of athletes, it was never going to work wherever it was, unless they were more lenient with the testing.

We're going for herd immunity by infections, blunt line. I'm not saying I agree with it, but ultimately that's probably what the hope is - because the vaccines allow us to do that.

It's a gamble, a huge gamble, and again I'm not saying it's right.

But I also don't think it's right that thousands have lost jobs or hundreds of venues have been closed for 18 months or that entire industries had everyone - not just the government - telling them they didn't matter.

I don't know anymore, I'm just going to stay sensible. Given I've bloody got the thing, supposedly, especially sensible, though there's no way I'm not going to be getting out on my bike early tomorrow and keeping my training up, only thing that's keeping me sane!

Didn't any of these people read Rainbow Six?

It doesn't really matter where it's held, under the circumstances. Tokyo is probably about the worst possible choice, but it really doesn't matter where.

Particularly as per @MikelsGoat earlier tweet it almost seems as if they are being set up to be a fall guy.

Wembley appears like it was a superspreading event and that was outdoors. The chances of there being a major outbreak in at least one nightclub when they have close to the ideal COVID conditions seem sadly pretty high.

Know of three cases related to Wembley attendance - all are single-jabbed, all three really unwell with C-19 afterwards (at home, not hospital)

At least for the young, yes sadly it looks that way.

Hope you remain without symptoms and in good health. I know you don't want to hear this and appreciate it will be hard to do but skipping the bike ride and replacing it with some form of exercise in your garden, at the least for a couple of days whilst you are at the most contagious, would seem wise.

I have no symptoms. I have tested negative every two days for the past week and a half yet suddenly have a positive. So okay, incubation period maybe? But that means for the last week and a half I've had it and the tests haven't picked it up? I did a test Saturday afternoon and was negative, and didn't go anywhere yesterday after a ride with my dad (out from 8:30-3ish, but didn't go inside, didn't have any contact with anyone, was just me and my dad). So I doubt it's that I've just caught it so I don't think I can right now be at my most contagious.

I'll see and be sensible, but if I hadn't have had to do it for work, then I'd have been going about my businesses as normal and going to the gym, food shop, etc, would literally have had no idea.

Now I'll be doing none of that, but it shows that it really was complete chance. I don't even have a cold or a sore throat (or more than the usual grogginess from the antihistamines I take) which given it's the middle of hayfever season is mad!

I'm going to test again on Wednesday, so maybe I'll leave it until then. So yes, will skip the ride and be extra careful for people - though obviously worried about my parents now.

thanks, sure it'll be fine, I've backed myself all along - annoying as I really have been sensible!

Glad when I did go to the gym today that I wore my mask!

I've called them to explain but what can they do other than deep clean as they do all the time anyway. Luckily didn't use any of the equipment, was a quick swim and out.

Glad you did that, know the easy route would have been to not notify them.

Don't get people moaning about these vaccine passports. Just get the jab. Can't see many reasons why you wouldn't. Bet the people who haven't had it would still get a injection when they go on their exotic holidays though.
Like you, I don’t understand people refusing the vaccine, but I do get why some people would push back on the passports. While overall they will likely help things return to normal for most people in the UK, their implementation will be absolutely devastating for anyone in the tourism/theatre/hospitality sector. They’ve already had a horrific last 18 months, and vaccine passports mean that even once international travel can resume, non-UK residents will effectively be barred from going indoors (or even large outdoor events) since the passport will be through the NHS app, which we obviously don’t have access to. Still, this seems like the right decision, and hopefully the government will give some support to the effected industries.
