I agree, but properly support the places that can`t open ( clubs etc ), rather than keeping them in a state of almost constant limbo like they have been.
Particularly as per @MikelsGoat earlier tweet it almost seems as if they are being set up to be a fall guy.

Wembley appears like it was a superspreading event and that was outdoors. The chances of there being a major outbreak in at least one nightclub when they have close to the ideal COVID conditions seem sadly pretty high.

That is on the government but also, what venue can realistically be shut for two years and then just pick it up again from nothing.

I'm not even on about nightclubs specifically here. Independent labels, bands and artists have been hit so hard by this. Bands and artists not being able to tour, missing massive opportunities that they might have had otherwise etc.

Staff also get older, might have had to move, probably had to get other jobs because even though there has been support for a lot of people it won't always have been enough and most people won't have been happy to sit on their arse for two years. What if people in that time have started families, or new relationships etc. There's so much at play.

I know you haven't done this, but it's been so easy for people to disregard this as unimportant. What about journalists who make their living from reviewing gigs, festivals and events etc. Again, it isn't just a financial thing either. Loads of them are freelance and going two years without being able to cover live stuff sees a lot of opportunities go too.

Plus, it comes down to timing. Tsubaki knows full well that there'd be tons of outcry if they attempted to open up in autumn.

The last thing a Tory government cares about is the arts and music sector, with stuff like clubs probably a close second.

That being said, again, while I hate the idea of a vaccine passport, if it encourages people who hadn't got the vaccine to get it, then that's a good thing.

Ultimately that's all you can do. It's like a teacher punishing everyone in the class for one child being a prat (albeit, not sure that ever really worked at our school :D )

And in fhe absence of the vaccines being available you’d think this could be achievable, iirc the trial Liverpool club events went off successfully

%68 had two doses of the jab in the UK so I read. Thought %60 would ensure herd immunity? Do we need %100?

I mean there is an ideal time.

After its stopped surging would be a good time.

But then there will be another surge some time down the line. And a surge will come any time we fully open up. You can delay surges but I dont think you can avoid them.

This isnt going to disappear any time soon. So if now is not the right time, then when?

There is no ideal time to open up fully but it has to be done. People need to be allowed to live their lives freely again.

Once everyone (Kids are included) has been double jabbed and cases are down massively.

Current situation is going to overwhelm hospitals whilst killing the economy at the same time because everyone’s isoating

I dont know Tim, but if you want to make me PM im sure I could do a better job.

2 thirds of the adult population are double jabbed. I'm in my 20s and will be double jabbed early August. We will unfortunately never comvince everyone to get jabbed so vaccinating everyone is not realistic.

I dont know enough to comment on vaccinating kids. I'm happy to let the experts decide on that.

Shouldn’t that include those who work in the NHS too though?

It includes everyone

I dont have the answers but I dont think we can afford any more lockdowns. I dont think Covid isn't going to go away either so I dont know if we have a choice but to live with it.

All we can do is encourage people to get jabbed but there are no easy solutions. Some people will never be convinced.
