How can 2 doses of AZ be less effective at mortality than hospitalisation? Shouldn't those categories be flipped?

Only a guess but perhaps reflects a lot of nursing home patients who disproportionately got AZ early on and who, despite the vaccine, are still in at the highest risk of death.

If anything like the Netherlands, Israel or California experience I’d say the mask part might be reversed even sooner especially if hospital admissions keep doubling at current rate of every two weeks.

I've just picked my daughter up from school and the school still requires masks to be worn in the playground. Just about half the parents weren't wearing one. Obviously outside it shouldn't be an issue. Bits it's a simple request to follow.

It's probably who generally is having the jabs.

Pfizer jabs are younger people. Younger people far less likely to end up in hosptial.

Having had to try and enforce mask wearing in a shop for over a year, you lose interest and just can’t be arsed with people in the end.

It's over seven hundred hospital beds being taken up that are needed by others - and the number is going to exponentially grow

Is there any information about what they’re in hospital with? How many have been vaccinated? What is the average age? Is there a link between vaccinated people and hospital admissions? We need this information. The numbers are being thrown out without context to scare people. It’s working seemingly.

The 49 will be from the amount of cases two or three weeks ago probably. I think it's died within a month of having it.

Even the hospital will be a few weeks behind. I guess the rolling average is what you should go by. I've given up trying to work it out tbh, just going to live how i feel is sensible.

Pencilling in 30 July for my first 'restriction free' pub visit. My gf is doubled vaxxed as of yesterday and i think i might bring mine forward to 8 weeks.

It’s still an incredibly low percentage of cases tbh.

Hospitalizations lag case numbers by about a week and deaths by over two (especially in younger groups who are put on ventilation) and reporting delays can stretch that even further.
