A group of 6 restriction in my opinion is not just. Especially if the majority are vaccinated.

If masks are made mandatory again when over 90% of adults are vaccinated when will they be removed? Surely if they'd bring back masks they should just keep them in place now?
yeah I agree, was just off the top of my head.

They'll probably just be trialling it mate. Just stay safe and be sensible, see what happens when the time comes.

Don't let people worry you now. I'm sorry, that list of symptoms to look out for has driven me over the edge with it. If that's what delta is, it's drivel, and is absolutely not something you shut countries down for.

There were very specific symptoms of COVID. Those symptoms are not specific, they are the general symptoms of having a viral infection, and people of all ages get them all the time and get over them, all of the time. It's ridiculous.

It's not legal or ethical - and it's very sexist - for lads not to be allowed in bars and clubs if they're together or not with girls.

It's much more valid for Pete to decide that only double vaccinated people can go in his pub during a pandemic or as we look to get out of one.

Also, come the autumn, it will be legal.
It's already legal

"As a licensee you do have the right to refuse entry to whomever you wish, however the reasons for any refusal must not be unlawful.

For instance equality legislation makes it unlawful to refuse entry on the grounds of race, religion, sex or sexual orientation and disability amongst other things. At the same time, however, every licensee has a duty to promote the licensing objectives and if allowing a customer or customers to enter the premises would undermine those objectives then it would be lawful to refuse entry."

Yep I meant as in the COVID pass thing.

This has been known. I know men being refused and refunded in the gate before a gig etc. I wasn't talking about this thing. They sense it would create uneasiness for women inside, so fair enough.

COVIDpass will be dealt more like hijab stuff IMO by the courts.

We've had our freedoms taken away in the name of public health. Why would the courts view this any differently?

Don't think this is legal?..Had the first jab myself and waiting but still too early for this stuff imo

Pubs can refuse service to anyone they want and we will put an extra section covering this in our operating manual. Anti-vaxxers can make their choice, our concern is our other customers. Masks are coming off on the 19th, ordering at the bar will restart.
Bit harsh on the early 30s and younger who are still waiting for the second jab. But I see the logic. I had my first jab several weeks ago now but have to wait until mid August for the second.

They can still sit outside with table service, but I know of four local pubs that have now had to close because of Covid contacts and are having to do a deep clean. It’s a balance between opening up and being careful…..

Standard flu deaths were from 30-70 a day over a year. So is that where the government currently are? I think thats where they are heading as an 'acceptable' figure...

The problem with normalising a fear of low death figures is the mental health toll it'll take on thousands of people.

As in if you teach people to fear a situation where 50 people a day are dying of it, then thousands will be agoraphobic wrecks long term.
