Actually, there really isn't much evidence to suggest that masks are doing that much at all.

I think we should keep them for now, and I'll probably wear one in public places indoors until at the very least I've got my second dose, but meh, the main thing is social distancing, not really masks.

But social distancing is unsustainable, and crap.

The common cold, Influenza and Covid are all spread on droplets breathed out by an infected person.
Surely then, anybody with a sniffle or a cough should wear a mask to minimise the possibility that they will pass on their infection to a third party.
Wearing a mask if you have a sniffle is standard practice in many countries in the far east.

It’s pretty clear now, especially from what Whitty is saying, that deaths from Covid are basically locked in now. If you’re vulnerable to this, even after two jabs, it seems like the thinking is that any measures are only delaying you catching the virus and any subsequent potential hospitalisation or sadly death.
