Israel has almost complicated eradicated Covid from their country, whilst ours is seeing case numbers skyrocket again

What's the difference?

People over here can't be arsed putting a facemask on to go into a supermarket, pub owners can't be arsed providing table service so allow the regulars to walk up to the bar, people can't be arsed getting vaccinated

This one isn't the government's fault - it's us

Comes down to how you die, when my time comes I want full compliment of health staff staff prescribing me a pain free death I don't think people have really grasped the dire straits our health and social care is actually in.

Think actually people need to witness an unmanaged death, the pain and suffering a body will go through not minutes hours but days of sheer agony.

So don't have much sympathy for innate babies who can't pop a few fun time pills and get all loved up club/warehouse. As stated more sympathy for those who legitimately work in the industry and that should recognised by government.

Not really sure what you're getting at.

I have no real interest in going to clubs at all. I barely drink never mind anything else! I just think we need to get back to normal.

I don't want to work in the house the rest of my life. I want to be able to go to football and events. I don't want to have rules about who and how many people can come into someone's house. I want business to be able to trade under normal rules and have a good chance of making a recovery. I want kids to have as normal a schooling as possible.

You utterly underestimate the sufferings of the youth. It is not like just drugs, gigs and parties missing. They lose the best part of their life. Oldies, as much as I want them healthy as long as possible, have had their youth at the very least. And its been 1,5 years. Whole population tried to protect them in the mean time.

Getting old sucks, pandemic or no pandemic, this is not new. Death too.
Basing on my 18 year and 22. Not much they cant do, apart from 22 year old who cant do the festivals/gigs working but doing teaching degree be that online getting tattoos etc. The 18 year old has the football and its training, has course etc. Both can met up with mates be it limited.

Not disputing death is inevitable just asking people to consider how people die, if you are happy for someone to be denied a fully managed death knowing full well our health and social care has millions waiting for treatments and its staff are stretched to its limits, just say you are happy to run the risk of someone else having unnecessary painful death just for entertainment, just as long as that someone else also includes one of yours.

Delta variant is our fault, How is that?

How are the British public to blame for the delta variant?

I'm not sure really but I know that it wasn't always going that well there. They had huge issues with mass (1000's of people) funerals at some point.

I know they are apparently the most advanced with vaccinations. Maybe they missed all the newish variants.

And I believe that is what the vast majority want, but there is the question of timing, and right now the science points towards 4 more weeks saving lots and lots of lives.

Wales is the world leader its vaccinated a greater share of its total population than any other country with more than one million people. Some 67.9 per cent of the 3.1 million people living in Wales have received a jab, compared to 63 per cent in second-placed Israel, 57.7 per cent in Canada and 56.7 per cent in Mongolia. As of today apparently every adult person registered under NHS Cymru has been offered first jab date.

The goalposts seemed to have moved to me. In the winter it was that hospitalisations were too high and we needed to help our hospitals and medical staff. Almost everyone supported the lockdown because it was clear what we were trying to avoid and it was necessary.

But now it's about variants and cases, despite 3 quarters of adults being vaccinated and we are entering the summer. Will much have changed in 4 weeks? I have no idea. But we are never going to convince everyone to get a jab.
Well they’re the people who will suffer if they catch it and, additionally, they won’t be travelling abroad anytime soon. Never mind the ‘it’s an infringement of my human rights’ bollocks, if the country you want to visit for a holiday says you ain’t coming in, you ain’t coming in.

I can't help but feel that people saying that it's just a four week delay and there won't be any lockdowns in the future are very naive. What this delay shows is that there's going to be another lockdown come winter as what this delay shows is that the government are bottle merchants. Every time they've needed to show strong leadership they've failed, they failed with lockdowns in the past when they were too slow to enact them and they're failing now when they're too slow to ease all restrictions. As soon as old and vulnerable people do what old and vulnerable people tend to do in winter, they will feel the pressure to lock down again and will do so.

Anyway, I'm willing to have a friendly bet with somebody that July 19th will not see the end of all restrictions. £10 to the other person's nominated charity?

Im going to be positive for once and say it will start falling in the next 10-14 days.... ;)

Even if they do mate, I'd be surprised if come autumn and certainly winter if cases and deaths aren't above what they are today.

Is this the benchmark for restrictions?

Who knows...

COVID is also killing the working class at twice the rate of the well off.
I've said this since day one, those who are likely to work in places with crowded conditions, or low paid jobs you cant do from home such as cleaners at the theaters...etc

It is the government’s fault for not leading on this from the start and for especially not learning from the past 14 months. People aren’t arsed as much now because they’ve seen the government and its media chums undermine its own response throughout.
