When it was really bad, you`d hear of two or three people, maybe more, who`d caught it every week, then the kids would get sent home from school. I haven`t heard of anyone by me who`s caught it for a good few months now and the school hasn`t shut any of the classes for going on a couple of months.
I`m going to the boozer tonight, to watch the opening game of the Euros and in there mask wearing is unofficially optional, as it`s full of double jabbed old boys.
I know many will disagree, but it`s like an oasis of " normality " in there.
He also could have decided to put India on the red list at the same time as Bangladesh and Pakistan. It's going to be interesting to see how mad the protests are.
Johnson made this bed and he'll have to lie in it. Nobody forced him to say there's "nothing in the data" repeatedly, yet he did, because he's a moron.

Protest at what? I mean, in my experience, there isnt much I cant do that I would want to. In fact, there isnt anything.
For weeks and weeks and weeks, there hasnt been anything in the data, hence the other dates being met. If there now is, then there is.

There's going to be several thousand jobs lost as a conservative estimate (probably tens of thousands) as a direct result of this, specifically in the hospitality industry. They've been gearing up for that date and the rug has been pulled once again.
It's not just events in those four weeks either, it's rescheduling, insurance etc. which will effect events for months down the line.
There will now be a massive nervous shock on the economy too as most will understand that with the virus rising exponentially and the government prepared to act like this, then a return to a form of lockdown will be likely. So pubs will be reluctant to order ale supplies in past a certain date etc.

Hospitality is open. Has been for a month. Shops are open, schools are as well. iirc the final relaxation of the rules were basically everything goes back to normal. No masks/SD, nightclubs and theatres etc all open. Full grounds.
The economy is getting back on its feet already. I really struggle to get that nightclubs opening will have that big an impact.
What changes were going to happen on the 21st June re pubs? As per my discussion with @Tubey I get very confused as to what is due to happen where and when! It’s not as simple as that.
Pubs / restaurants / cafes etc have had to remove tables to comply with the rules on numbers and at the same time employ more staff due to table service. So most are barely breaking even at the mo.
An example :
We were in the Lakes at the weekend ( glorious weather ) and the very nice remote pub we were staying in, had to make a choice on Saturday, between shutting the beer garden or the restaurant, as they didn’t have enough staff on to serve the people at the tables in the beer garden and the restaurant.
They shut the beer garden for the evening and lost all the customers who went there for a drink and not to eat. Which is a lot of people, as loads of walkers head there after a day on the fells.
